Hello. Some of you may have seen my J30 before on a previous post but I wanted to show some of the new things I have done to it lately...

Its currently running on Megan Coilovers with 18" AME'sFronts (18x9, +10mm)Rears (18x10, -18mm)

It has been converted to manual with some modification done to the car. I am using a Z32 trans with a SPEC clutch. I also relocated the ebrake using an s13 ebrake handle as well.

Here is a (bad) shot of the interior

Here are some misc. photos including the exhaust I had made...

Thanks..

freaking sweet....i like how your Js come along Naoki...if im not mistaken he said he had to drill holes on the front struts to make them work but everything else was simple...BTW wiring on the J45 has begun...next step rebuilding the motor and transmission...curious as to what route to go next...im either gonna invest in some coilovers or a supercharger....its one or the other....what do yall think?

If your gonna have a 4.5 in I would lean towards coilovers.A supercharger would be kinda hard to put the power to the pavement !

What transmission are you planning on using ??

A 4.5 J with a three speed powerglide would be a beast.Track wise that is . hehe

Im flashing back to my young days being on my Bro's drag team.Tire spin is lost time !!!!

Unless I'm way off and your building a Drift beast ?

I only had to drill one hole in the front but its because the coilovers are a mixture for different cars. It worked out and I will be modifying the sway bar mounts to work as well.

I would love to have a manual transmission in this car. i don't think the stock transmission fully utilizes the power and dinamics of this motor. What kind of investment are we looking at? Time and money?

Jspout-It's a totally different car now..

I didn't spend too much money but since I pretty much did this without any references, it did take a lot of my time.

Here is a list of stuff I pretty much needed.

Transmission (Z32)Custom driveshaftclutch pedal (cant remember)clutch master cylinder (s13)Clutch Slave cylinder (s13)Ebrake handle (s13)transmission bracket (For S13 but modified)SPEC clutch (Z32)

I think that's it. I probably spent $1,000.00 for entire project. The most time I spent on the project was figuring out the clutch pedal location and figuring out how of the transmission tunnel I had to cut to make the transmission fit right.

Care to share what parts from what cars you used?

I wanna see how you mounted the clutch pedal. Must be fun with a 5 speed and coilovers on it

Yah my friends are wanting me to do a 5 speed swap also. Did you get any pics of the install itself? I want to do this project too, but currently don't have the cash or a second ride to be able to accomplish this.

Its either manual swap for now or go all in and do the TT manual conversion.

I can take photos. Finding the right spot for the pedal was a little tuff. I did have to bang the fender well to make room for the clutch master cylinder and I also had to extend the clutch pedal 3" because the location of the master cylinder was so high up the fire wall.

I kinda figured that you would have to do something to fit the clutch master in there, its a tight squeeze. Pics would be awesome!!

I'm guessing S13 coilovers plus lca, tie rods, tension rods, knuckle, conversion hub, etc. Congrats man!

Wait, doesn't the J30 have the shock attached to the spindle like Y33's? How'd you get around that? Drftday, details please. This has me all intrigued and s**t.

Here you go...

If anyone else is interested, I was planning to have this sold as a complete kit. Since this one was a prototype, it's a little messy...

I've put on around 3000 miles without any problems.. Spring rate are a little too soft (8kg) but they will do for now..

Thanks for the info, Definately a summer project for me. I have a J30 parts car with a good engine that I am thinking I could do all the work and mods on to make it fit and then swap it over to my other J when I complete it. That would keep my car from being down for a few months. I hope i can lean on you for advise in the future. Lance

We are doing a manual swap on swimshark's j30 this weekend. We have done major car work before so it shouldn't be too hard but i was wondering if you could post up some pics of the pedal mount, the clutch master cylinder, and how you altered the transmission tunnel and fender well.

Thanks

Also what did you have to do about the wiring harness for the sensors on the manual trans? Did you have any difficulties with the rear transmission mount? I know the 300zx have a 3 bolt pattern on the bracket and the J30 has a 2 bolt pattern for the auto.

Are you having a driveshaft made for yours?

Kind of hard to see..

I also put all the interior parts back so it's almost impossible for me to take a good photo of the clutch pedal from the inside.
