If anyone else is interested, I was planning to have this sold as a complete kit. Since this one was a prototype, it's a little messy...

I've put on around 3000 miles without any problems.. Spring rate are a little too soft (8kg) but they will do for now..
This is how the Z31 guys put coilovers on their cars.

Someone told me Z32 coilovers work with the J, not sure if thats true.

Are you 100% sure its the 02-03 lancer camber plates that fit? i had my s13 camber plate fail on me and im wanting to get the proper ones so when I get my new J30 setup I dont have to drill any new holes like i did on my last one.

s13 coilovers with s14 spindles. s14 tie rod end link and s14 lca ball joint used as well.

are the rear coilovers s14 or s13 length? do you use the z32 ecu with the manual conv, or does the stock j30 one not freak out? i cant believe theres not a driveshaft combo or stock trans mount to make it work, either

you can use s13 or s14 coilovers. z32 will not work. they have a different lower mount.

you cant use 300zx ecu either. car will not act right and after hitting 40 or so it freaks out and dies. j30 ecu works good. im working on getting custom tuned chips set up for under $200 with a guy that does tuning for 300zx. he sockets the ECU with his daughterboard and then installs the chip with custom tuned map. now that my car is up and running again i can do dyno pulls and get air fuel ratios with power readings and he can try to tune it that way. may see if i can just take a road trip to him and get him to tune it personally at his shop in FL. im at 201rwhp and 177ft/lbs torque.

driveshaft just needs the manual slip yoke welded on and as far as mount you can use the stock J30 mount. just bolt it to the trans.

just got done a few weeks ago doing my second manual swap and it went a lot quicker this time around.

yeah i figured there was no way z32 coilovers would work in the front, the suspensions seem totally different. so on the rear suspension, youre saying s13 or s14 will work? i know s14 coilovers are longer in the rear than s13.. let us know when you get that daughterboard set up working! does anyone have a link to an fsm btw?

route i took to put actual front coil overs on is EVO 8 camber plates, s13 coilovers, s14 front spindles, J30 lca with s14 ball joints and s14 tie rod endlinks

nice, i assume you had to drill out the coilovers, or are you using spacers with s13 bolts?
also, what are you guys doing for tension rods?

yah i drilled the holes out ont he lower mount to 9/16" for the s14 bolts to pass through.

as for tension rods i made a custom set for my car from a plastic called delrin.

they have an aluminum slug int he middle to hold the bolt. ive been using them for 2 years now and they are holding up well. it eliminated body roll a good bit as well. not 100% sure but the J30 tension rods may be the same as z31 300zx. there is a z31 at a pull a part that i could pull one off and compare. i know they make polyurethane bushings for the z31.
