Hey srellim and others

What grade of gas are you useing in your Versa?

Anyone have a recomendation on mpg for verious gras grades (87, 89, 91 or 93)? Over the years with my cars I have noticed better mpg with higher octain.

What's seems to work best for the Versa?

It's made for 87 octane without ethanol. But good luck finding it [at least up here].

And my bike runs best with leaded gas. Ya, right.

Point out any grade of gas without 10%. I think that's the min now. At least, it is in TN. You cannot get regular 87 octane anymore. It had no effect on my last car in regards to fuel mileage though. I got 30-33 each tank. About what my Versa seems to get.

I've noted the best mileage when I shift between 2500-3000 rpms, and never let the engine break 3k. I hit 4k, the results are drastic. On my last car, I noted a marked gain in fuel economy after I hit 5k miles as well, so I expect the same here.

Of course, as I said I idle alot during lunch during the summer months, so my fuel economy is rather inaccurate to say the least. Come winter, when I don't need A/C to live, we shall see what she does.

I buy my gas in SC and NC, and rarely see any with ethanol. If a station has it, I go on to another station, because my mileage does take a hit with ethanol. I'm surprised it's different in a state as close as Tennessee!
