It happens....

Good call on the transmission. Did you replace the pilot bushing/bearing? And I don't recall if you did the clutch and slave. For as cheap as they are on these cars I feel that a clutch, slave, and damper bypass is always in order. What are you doing with the cat? You should just put a test pipe up until you can figure out what you want to do..... it's not like Florida has inspection lol I miss living there.

Oh and don't bother with the springs and shocks.... wont get you low enough.

@ Out to win- I replaced the slave and thats all i was in a rush and eager to finish because it was dark so i didnt check the clutch or replace the release bearing but it looked in pretty good shape..But now im kicking myself in the a** because i think the clutch is slipping in 1& 2 it jerks way to much for it to be a leak from my Intake, then in 3rd sumtimes and 4,&5 it shifts smooth and doesnt jerk at all.. i may have to pull the damn transmission again and replace the bearing, clucth and flywheel, and any other bearings i need.. SMH..or i might just pay someone to save me the headache..

@ Dalzell- ok cool thanks iu was just gunna cut them right of since im not going to put the auto doors on ever again..

Nah just get some help... New flywheel and clutch kit, pilot bearing, throwout bearing, rear main seal, flywheel bolts, CMC. Check the transmount, check the diff bolts, check the U-joints.

I changed the door and the hatch it was pretty easy..wires in the hatch pissed me off so i pulled them and cut them then im going to splice the 3 wires on the right and the two on the left.. i think i need to align the door a bit better though the window doesnt look like its sealing properly. Hopefully today i can do the springs and shox..

I dont know why everyone on here is giving you a hard time!! I love your 240sx and with a little love it will come along!!! Keep me posted!! And get that twin cam in... but i would check compression on all cyl. first, then if your SOHC is still running... take the time and rebuild your ka24de DOHC and then after you rebuild it drop it in!! Then you will have one strong good running KA24DE 240sx!! But look on ebay... you can find a full rebuild kit for the ka24de for $350!! Work on it if you know how to do it, a little bit at a time til its done!! I would not just trust that ka24de that you bought from that dude for a couple hundo bucks!!

@ 240sxAliLife-- I sold that motor for 200 already ;) so i got a free transmission basically and made a couple extra bucks.. And yeah idk why people are being gay..im not a NEWB to the max..i think i know what im doing enough to get some respect around here..

Anyways..I changed out my driver door..Changed out the hatch, installed my radio with proper wire harness and installed my CB radio as well; Changed my shox and springs, painted the bumper and hatch for the hell of it and the headlights after i did a good sanding with 100 grit. now im waiting til next week to buy the fenders so i can sand the WHOLE car down, and give it a good (cheap) paint. Im thinking Satin Black kinda like flat but a lil nicer i think.i Changed the oil & Filter as well. so lets see what i need left to make it run properly and look proper.

1. Connect Vacuum lines ( BTW i need a picture of someones SOHC engine bay )
2. (2) new fenders
3. (3new tires) (1) 225/50/15 (2) 205/50/15
4. Driver manual Door Panel
5. Rubber Gromet for Brake pedal
6. Paint

After that she should have a straight body with very minor dings in certain places of rear panel & freshly painted with good tires and a strong engine/transmission.

Pictures coming later tonight or tomorrow..not very many taken cuz i usually do the work by myself so its hard to take pics and work and do all that crap at the same time+ remembering to take the pics..

Good stuff, I see no real gripe. Dont let it hurt your feeling.... wait marines don't have those.

Please no flat black, it's over done on these cars. Just save for a nice paint job.

I put the Fuel pump and stuff on hold..So i took out all the interior panels except the dash components and i sanded them down and sprayed them with a rubber undercoat..now there still drying from last night so depending on how it turns out i might go over it with black paint to make it look fresh..i love the texture though of the rubber coat. I may not do it to the dash board, i may just sand it and go over it with black .

Ehh I wished you asked first, if it duplicolor rubber undercoat that stuff never fully cures. You would have been best spraying with a bedliner material like heruliner or rhinoliner. Not sure how bad the interior was that made you do that. Especially with the heat, it's always going to be on the tacky side.

I have used a few different brands of that stuff. And I think it was the duplicolor that never cured all the way, wait that may have been the house brand. I ended up wire wheeling it off the frame, and using bed liner over primer.

yeah all in my tank like 4 handfuls and theres still a ton more..yes if your car is jerking around or sputtering thats prolly your problem..you should stick your hand in the tank til the bottom were the sending unit rest and i wouldnt be suprized if you felt a handful of dirt..im gunna take it of today but i need to figure out how its done

So i haven't even attacked the fuel tank yet..i need a jack to get it off since i lowered the car unless someone knows of another way. for the last week ive been taking care of my military buidness and it looks like they want to send me of in January instead of august but i really want to finish this for my fiancée before i leave. so the next couple of weeks i will be trying to finish her up...

I had a question about the fuel..if its getting clogged and dirty and barely has fuel in it would that affect the rpms and cut my fuel when i accelerate??cuz if i put the pedal to the metal it cutts off and doesnt move if i lightly give it gas it starts going then starts jerking..??

also do i need the vacuum lines that come from under the fuel rail in the SOHC and go to the EGR pump i think?? its toward the bumper in the right corner of the engine bay..( basically the vacuum lines that go over the fan shroud..)

I cant think of any EGR line that goes across the fan shroud. Could be a line going to the wet/dry ac canister.
BTW you from Kissimmee?
