FINALLY!!!!!!!! I am the proud owner of a 1990 240sx hatch se... Picked it up for 425 and it only needed a Release Bearing. Also the slave cylinder is frozen... Went to Miami yesterday to pick it up but didn't have sufficient tools to finish the job..( Mind you i live about 4 hours away from Miami) .. I tried to drive it without the clutch and was successful but the damn lights on US 1 burnt out my clutch..Every time i stop at a light i need to turn it of put it in first and take of like that. it wouldn't pick up first cuz the bearing was so broken and the clutch was so hot..and when i could get it in gear i had to take of in second.. anyways after weighing my options i decided to leave it in Miami and get it towed to Orlando this weekend. Car needs a new hatch old one is rusty and i want to replace the doors with manual windows doors, also the doors have some dings in it anyway so why not replace them, left headlight has some surface rust so a new one would do me good... Interior is in great shape just needs a lil TLC cuz its been sitting for 2 years and 6 months.. Cranked right up the first time i started her.

With a nice bath, new doors , new hatch, new headlight , and a good sanding and paint this beauty will be looking nice. It was funny because when i cranked her up she sounded like a v8..IDK how but it does lol.. I didn't take pictures because my phone died while i was working on her. =[ but they will come as soon as the car gets down here.

If anyone has any of those parts i need shoot me a PM or just comment here.. Thanks

SOrry for the long wait guys. i couldnt get a tow and had to go down and fix it myself this weekend..this is the new status..The guy lied and it didn't need a throw out bearing....it actually looked pretty fresh, I changed it out anyways and it still made the clacking noise, i figured something was wrong with the gears cuz the input shaft had some play and it made a grinding when turned. Then the guy says oh its the catalytic converter cuz it exploded.. -_- at this point im like whatever im driving this B**** out of here how she is so i can work on it at my own house. drove it without a clutch( clutch master cylinder was missing bleeder screw ) and without 1st gear without 5th Gear and without Reverse..When i was at the gas station about to leave on US-1 there was actually a s14 across the street at another station leaving IDK if he might be on this forum but it was a Saturday at like 9 - 10pm ish.. ANyways on the way to kissimmee from Miami the radiator started leaking big time like size of a piss stream hole and i had to stop her at okachobee road in Ft. Pierce left her there over night came back with a radiator and drove her from there to kissimmee. Now she sits in kissimmee and after a test run today the fan guard broke hit my fan came out the bottom then the vacume lines got cut and tangled in the fan and my transmission blew 3rd. IDC about the transmission cuz its geting replaced but now i need new lines =/ anyway im uploading pics now should be up soon.

With all the stuff you are fixing already and still have to fix it seems you should have just paid a little more for a better condition 240. But good luck with it, have fun.

Sounds like you need to swap the whole engine transmission combo from a junkyard s13. Still a good deal though.

No joke.... Enough with the busting his balls already. You do have some work ahead of you but with all the money you saved on the car you can buy parts to fix it and some extra goodies. :naughty:

Well this guy of craigslist was selling a motor and transmission cuz he heard a noise in his motor and supposedly it was timing chain noise.but it wa running perfect and the transmission shifted nice, its actually a rebuilt transmission so its fresh. So anyways i made a deal for 200 Bucks and a steering wheel i had laying around..
He was asking like 300 or 400 i think.. IDC i just need the transmission for now, im gong to take the clutch fan off, put an electric one on (from the engine set up hes giving me) wire it up get my vacuum lines back on, change my oil, my filter, my spark plugs (wich i already have) my intake needs to be replaced cause the rubber part on one of the couplings broke and it doesn't hold. or i could just tape it up lol. After that all thats left is just installing the new transmission. Then putting in my 4x6 Jl's my 1300 amp with my L5 Solobaric. And i think i got an Alpine or KEnwood radio laying around im going to install. I got a Deal for someone with 2 fresh manual doors with a hatch all with the same key set no dents or rust paying 125. AFter that i need 2 fenders wich i found for 60 for both with no dents at all. after that all theres left to do is install the new body parts sand it down primer it and give it a paint job, i have people that paint cars lucky me they do it for free :DD so watt i put 425 for the car 185 for body parts 100 for all paint & 200 for the transmission and il pretty much be set. thats a total of 910 for a car that look fresh and has a running motor with a full interior and sound thats all i need really. after that its just saving for my RB swap or SR swap..

Installing the new transmission today at noon. I think it was a junkyard unit, it says sold and has some numbers on it. so should be pretty fresh he just took it out of his s14 and left it on the harness and thats how i piked it up wiring and all.
Any body know were to get good priced HID's?
Anything different from the s14 transmission besides the sensor on the top that the s13 doesnt use?

Im putting a video up of when i was driving from ft. pierce with the bad transmission.. now the noise you hear was what they thought was the bearing so thats what i had replaced..Now before i left Miami the guy i got it said it is the catalytic converter that exploded and is making this noise or something..Anyways take a look at the video and see if anyone can get anything out of it?? im going to replace the exhaust anyways but i need to know if i can wait or if that noise is something else..With the new transmission ide assume the noise would be gone but i just want to be sure..

The noise was just the transmission its gone now.. No worries there.. i had to re wire a harness that had been cut from the fan and i got some minor things like the body parts left to get..and i have to bled the clutch and she will be good to go..any one have a chart for the gear ratios or anything??

Well..feelin the love with no replies :/ but its straight.. Anyways i bought a door and a hatch yesterday piked it up for 80 bucks... Going to install them today hopefully.. The new door is a manual door and i currently have power windows.. IT should be pretty straight forward i assume?? Take the fender of and get to the bolts like that cut the wires tape em and then make sure i align the door right on the first try..

ps.. are there threads just for a build so i dont keep posting it here in the general discussion? Or am i in the right place?

you shouldnt have to cut any wires, the whole should pull thru the door and thhen you can feed it into the new door, and swap over window regulator and door lock actuator. pretty easy stuff imo. anyways welcome and good luck with the car
