A buddy of mine had a 510 with a ka24de swap and Mikuni 44's that ran awesome! He did 13.9 with just the carbs and an ebay 4-1 header(small round ports). The cool thing is that this was with stock cams and low compression(8.5:1) pistons. The front wheels actually got a few inches off the ground. I can imagine if it was in a super gutted s13 with high comp pistons and a race head with some 272 cams!

The guy who built the motor and fabbed the intake for the carbs said as soon as you launch, you instantly feel the torque, no waiting for the revs to climb to make power. I think he used a Datsun L20 dizzy and modified it to work on the ka.

schema, you should really look into having your head shaved some to bump compression, and cleaning up your wiring etc, that car has some serious potential.

Just seeing the old 2 barrel weber carbs gives me a headache....Those are either the idf or dcoe series. Veryyyyy hard to tune right. I had the DGV series and I never got it right after fiddling with it 100's of times. On the top side, It's upgradable because Redline fuel management has a bolt on replacement for those to make it fuel injected so you can still keep the independent throttle bodies and the response with MORE power and efficiency. That is if they haven't gone out of business and are still around.I would also get rid of those screen filters and add some "modern-ness" to it... After all, the KA heads are not build like the old days, dirt and debris really hurt them.+1 for the awesome look of the ITB'sIn case no one has ever seen this link on ITB's (hoo-rah for nico):http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=226806

They're actually ADR M Sports, looks really similar!

Still scouring for an engine. These things were everywhere when I didnt need them, not they're MIA

Talking to 3 people who are pulling theirs now, I'll score one soon and get the show on the road

lol, I forgot about this post! I've had 4 more 240s since this; a convertible, two other hatches, and now a coupe that I just picked up all the parts for a manual swap.

But, alas, I've been on a miata kick. Here's my two current projects ( not including the s13 im doing the manual swap on)

The turbo project. Auto/man conversion ( I seem to be good at this, ha) flares, lip, hardtop yadda yadda cosmetics, building a megasquirt now (MSI, V3 board) , MTXL wideband, 14b turbo, electronic boost controller, intercooler, water injection, yadda yadda. I have every single part ready to go, just waiting to finish the MS

v8 Miata. I pulled a 350 from a late 70's vette, bluew out the tunner, fabb'd the mounts, and shoved a TH350 trans under the car's belly. Lightweight, s*** handling, screaming power, dangerous. Why WOULDNT you want to drive one :rotfl Just a roller now, more of a leisure project.

I'm picking up another s13 drivetrain/ECU/wiring this weekend. No promises, but it's slated to be in my 3rd miata. WhytheHellnot?
