Well I did a post before about needing help to tune my car to run a little better, then something happened to the motor ( and still haven't opened it too look and see.) This is the post zerothread?id=186429

This is what the cars hasSSautochrome top mount t3/t4 manifoldMaster Power Turbo Hybrid intercool erTurbo XS style BovCustom DownpipeCustom Intercooler Piping3 inch downpipe and Custom exhaust480cc S15 injectorsN62 Mass Air flow meterWalboro 255Fuel Regulator

The motor that I was putting it didn't run right and I figured it had a bad headgasket when steam was coming out of the side of the motor.

Well I sent the head to get resurfaced and put new valve seals myself. New headgasket and new exhaust, and intake gaskets. Then I had a hard time gettin the timing on the distributor correct but finally i got it. I still haven't set the timing with a timing light or anything....... After I got it to run the manifold that the engine had was leaking water from every hose possible, so I also changed that from the other engine to this one.

Sometimes the engine starts good like normal and once and a while it takes a while to turn on. That is one of the problems.

The other problem it the car is wasting gas like crazy and it is throwing black smoke out of the exhaust.

I try to set the safc2 a little the low side is around -30 and the high setting I think is at -9 the injectors are from a s15 motor the size is 480cc. The engine is very laggy sometimes.

I'm also thinking I have vacuum leak, but the thing is that the boost gauge is reading fine, im getting the signal from the vacuum off of the fuel regulator. Also the brakes feel a little mushy now and they were never like that before.......

The regulator is set at around 35-38 psi.

Also the exhaust is leaking like crazy on my vband, but i think its because the clamp I have is too wide.... I got another one to try today so I will be working on that.

Im trying to think of what else I can tell you, I checked all of the wiring on the mafs and it everything seems good. A friend of mine said I need to get the car tuned, but Im afraid if I take it somewhere they are going to be is wrong with your car and send me home to fix it lol.

Thanks guys and sorry for the long post.

Sounds like you may have damaged the injector o-rings during install. Make sure to get new ones from deatschwerks.com and lube them up before you tighten them down. Also, tighten them evenly on the caps, not right all the way, left all the way etc..

Look at the spark plugs and see which ones are black or soaked.

Make sure your MAF is reading ~.4V with the key 'ON'.

I check all of the o-ring and non of them are torn, I lubed them with valvoline grease. I see nothing wrong with them but one of them feels a little loose. How stiff should they be on the injector.

if you had a leaking injector youd def be able to tell. it wouldnt run right at all if it did at all that is. i think youre just running way rich and thats why it seems vre sluggish. you should get a wideband on that thing asap and set your timing with a light before it goes pop. def lean your hi throttle out to -30 at least. probably will need more leaning out, but to be safe leave it at -30. you should really get it on a dyno and have it tuned. as for your other problems, thats just stuff you have to fix yourself.

prolly need to be more around -40% on the injectors...cuz 370cc's take -27% correction....he has 110 bigger cc injectors....try -38% or so to see if it helps

I put in my stock injectors for now and it runs a lot better.... I fix the huge exhaust leak problem and now the engine is very quiet. I tried like all kinds of different settings on the injectors and nothing..

I'm going to make sure everything is okay and take the injectors for service to make sure they're perfect and then take it to the dyno.

no, my 560s are at -42 for hi throttle and it runs perfect (no smoke at all or bogging, or anything what so ever). feels like a stock turbocharged car (yes, it really does run that good not even tuned THANKS RICK FOR DEM SETTINS). id much rather be rich than lean. leave it at -30 till you get it tuned if you kept them in. good to hear it runs fine with the stock injectors. it might be the injectors them selves, or your afc is wired incorrectly.

The afc is wired correctly, It has been looked at many times and the sensor checks are good, im thinking was the injectors...... I put a buddy club exhaust and a top secret rear diffuser for them on a 350z for a friend of mine, Im going to be pissed if something is wrong with them.

check your maf sensor. It sounds like that could be it also. I had a similiar problem. It was spitting fuel out the exhaust and no matter what I did I was unable to tune the car correctly it always ran like crap. It would run well when I first turned it on then once the car shut died it was hard to start it again. Unless I let it set for a while.

I dunno, I put my stock injectors and it hasn't been giving me a hard time to start, it starts up way faster then before. The starter just turns a little and Vroom! lol it turns on. So what do you think maybe one of the injectors are stuck? I hope they are fixable.

it might be the injectors. have the place thats gonna look at them tell you how many are messed up, and the cost to fix them. you might as well go with some fresh deatschwerks. afc can compensate for 555s which will give you rom for more power if you wish. plus you can give them your stock ka injectors and those s15 injectors and get $100 back, so youll only end up paying $200 for a fresh set of injectors.
