When they're done with my car I am going to be meticulous as **** when inspecting the car.

SkillCraft in Huntington Beach (on Gothard and Warner) is a pretty good shop, rated 35 out of 50 body shops reviewed in southern California by AAA (the only one on the list in orange county). They just did some work for me on my 98 240 a couple weeks ago, and they did an excellent job. Some guy tore off my front bumper pulling out of his driveway in a 2500HD Silverado. They did a great job matching the paint, and they've done some work for a couple of my friends. Just another shop to consider, hat will take care of your 240.

Dropped off the car this morning, told them (and wrote on the paper) that I want FACTORY replacement parts only. Signed some paperwork, and gave them my key. Now I'm just waiting until Monday to confirm my question about factory parts..

Hopefully it'll be done by the end of the week.

There are almost no aftermarket/Taiwan factory replacement parts for the 97-98 s14. Also, is that factory paint, if so, does it have a pearl coat? lastly, it is important that they blend the paint, this will probly result in repainting 75% of the car but it's a must if you want everything to match.

Im not sure about the west coast but i do know that a few shops here on the east coast, DO NOT always give you factory replacement.

Why would you buy a replacement part that wasn't Nissan's when you could just go to a junk yard and pull the part off an actual Nissan. Our cars aren't that rare! Also, the body shop i go to here in Seattle can match any paint on a single panel at a time to match the car perfectly. They've done it multiple times with my car and my girls 240z. To repaint the entire car that was only damaged in one panel is insane. Go to a good body shop. Not Macco's. A good way to tell is if the body shop actually pulls trim and door handles, etc. off before painting instead of painting around it.

remember kids, the whole idea is to rip as much money from the other party's insurance as possible because no matter what they WILL haggle you and try to lowball the repairs. Also, count up how much money you've paid them over the years...it's time for payback, eh?
