Thank you sir.

I wetsanded the car today. Came out good everywhere besides the roof and pillars... the pillars and part of the roof turned from black to like a brownish color... wtf?

luckily i have enough paint and im putting another coat on top of it, so im not too worried. However i dont think ill be wet sanding the next coat if it goes on smoothley

Tomarrow ill probably hit the quarter panels with the second coat, and if i have time or daylight, ill hit the roof

If anyone wants the 5 lug i will do $320 w/o shipping. I just need money like yesterday

the spacers are 4 lug and no, there MINE!

The s14 was my baby... even with this new sick s13, every time i see a picture of my old S14 i miss it more and more

I wrecked it flying through a 3 lane ramp turn accelerating somewhere between 85 and 90mph. I hit a puddle and you can guess what happend after that. I spun around 3 times off into the grass and into the guard rail. Luckily i slowed the car down to about 15mph by the time my rear hit the rail so a lot of the car as able to be parted out and neither me or my friend were injured.

I havnt updated this in a while so i figured id update. Ive only done little things here and there since the last post, but i just finished high school and im in summer vacation so i have a lot of time on my hands to DO WORK!

Ive finished painting the car with more coats, took off all the tape and residue from when i had masking tape instead of painters tape, got rid of some rust, got extended studs, new pads, and 15mm spacers in the rear, fixed some alignment issues with the fender, collected miscellaneous missing parts i still needed, as well as some other little stuff

Image
Image
Im putting those energy steering rack bushings in tomorrow

heres the rust before
Image
Image

I used a wirebrush on a drill and got all the rust off. Then i went over it with rustoleum primer.
Image
Image

As you can see theres a few holes, but there not brittle (i can stand on them and put pressure on them without them breaking through). Im most likely just going to go over it in peal and seal (ghetto dynamat) which will also patch up the holes from water getting in from the bottom and keep the holes from getting bigger.
Image
Image

As far as the hatch, my friend took a dremel to it to smooth it out, and then i went over it in rustoleum for now.
Image
I might have to weld a piece in to close it up though because there is a leak in the hatch somewhere. I havnt found out where its coming from but the water piles up in the spare tire well.

Not the best pictures but heres how the wheels sit with the spacers. I also smoked my crappy set of tail lights to see how i liked it. I have another set thats not all cracked and nasty
Image
Image
Image
Image

from the front
Image
Image

Random interior shot with my huge a** boost gauge that i just found lol
Image

I took off the ugly tweed on the door cards. Will go over it in black suede soon enough
Image

Im also replacing my cracked up old steering wheel that feels like the throttle on a motorcycle with this pretty much new one i got for free with the struts i bought.
Image

Ive done other little random stuff on the car, but nothing really important... Another picture lol
Image

As you may have noticed, i pulled the engine back out again lol. Reason being we forgot to put the adapter plate between the engine and transmission. Since then me and my friend have been busy with other things and never got around to putting it back in the car. Im gonna go grab the engine lift again on saturday and were dropping the motor back in for the final time this weekend.

thats it for now

thanks guys... ive had this for too long haha i just wanna fcking drive it already

as far as the tail lights i used nightshades, but i only did one layer so you can still see through it. Ive seen some jobs come out somewhat shiny like mine and others that look like a flat non glolssy look. Honestly, i dont know how mine came out glossy, i sprayed clear coat on them, but they were shiny before that, and when the clear coat dried up it looked less shiny... now a month later it looks glossy again

i honestly have no idea but when i do my good tail lights im going to look up tips on making them come out glossy and do the best possible job

I figured its time to update...

well about a month ago i picked this up,
Image
MTX thunder 5000 with an amp from my boy for $50. He had it in his hatch and it slammed. He needed 50 more dollars to get wheels so he said hed sell it to me and i was like YEAAAH BUDDYYYY!

i also replaced that huge 1025mm autometer gauge with this 52mm prosport gauge that i got for $20
Image

AEM wideband brand new in box for $175
Image

I didnt get a picture, but i got a set of nismo mounts (engine and transmission) for $140 with 5k miles on them. They look brand new and will look even better in my engine bay :)

I stacked up on some used tires for drifting, im ready to go craaaaazy with this car
Image
Image

About a week ago my package from enjuku came in with my braided turbo lines, circuit sports oil catch tank, shorty antenna, and some more extended studs

then i picked up this Z32 vlsd in an S13 housing, not bad for $40
Image

And finally, my package from FRsport came in yesterday! I got a bunch of goodies including

a replacement air filter for my intake, but of course i got it one size too big, but ill make it work
Image

Energy suspension tension rod bushings. These things look like the business
Image

Peak performance polyurethane subframe collars
Image

Tein inner and outer tie rods
Image

and other misc stuff i needed ilke the belts, the turbo studs, bolts, locking plates, etc.
Image
Image

So right now im in the middle of replacing my steering rack bushings. Its not as hard as i thought but at the same time its kind of a b**** to get the brackets back on and its definatley easyer with a friends help. But the end result seems way worth it, especially since the bushings are only $15
Image

Tonight i got the braided turbo lines hooked up, got the belts on, put the turbo studs on and bolted up the elbow, hooked up some of the fuel and vaccuum lines, and put the transmission bolts i just picked up on. So now the motor is fully prepped and ready to drop right in on friday.

But i still have some things to take care of, like for example. I took out my old fuel pump and notice my gas tank is FCKED! its full of rust and nasty a** grime everywhere. So im just getting rid of that and getting a new one before i hook up my walboro. While the gas tank is out im gonna swap out the diff and put the subframe collars on. I also still need to relocate my battery to the trunk, change my front calipers and lines, tie rods, tension rod bushings, finish my steering rack bushings, and i still have to do all my intercooler piping, and plug up the harness once the motor is in.

but once all that is done, this car should be ready to drive, and i cant f*** WAIT for that day :woot:

Well its not 100% clean but i got a good amount done today. I found a bunch of missing s***, and sorted out what im throwing out/keeping/selling

not to mention i have a lot more floor space now, and im not tripping over things. Thats always a plus lol

still no pictures for you guys.. not yet atleast. Im doing work tommorow so ill take some them

as far as the agenda for tommorow
-drop gas tank
-put new gas tank in
-hook up walboro if i can find a clean sending unit cause mine is just... no
-put subframe collars
-possibly swap my diff with a vlsd if i dont decide to shim it yet
-finish up the wiring
and if all this goes the way it shoud...
-CRANK THE F***ER UP!!!!

Well all this stuff happened like a week ago but i never got around to uploading the pics so heres some updates, and i learned that things werent moving as fast as i thought they would, but its still getting done

With the gas tank out, you can see all my little rust holes down there
Image
I sprayed any that were rusted from the bottom with rustoleum and i guess thatl have to do for now

I finally found a new gas tank and a new sending unit. My old ones looked like diarrhea

Out with the old
Image
Image

In with the new!
Image
Image

I couldnt be happyer, i got lucky and found a sending unit at the junk yard that looked brand new. I also installed my walboro at this time

While i was under there i put in my peak performance polyurethane subframe collars so i dont get that annoying a** clunking from my rear end like my s14 had
Image
Image

and heres the engine, in the middle of the wiring process
Image

Thats it for now. Ill try to update on the day next time. Not too much has been getting done the past week and a half cause i had a cold, but thats finally done with and right now the wiring is about 80% done, so im expecting to be able to get the rest of it done tonight and maybe crank it up

Pshhh just wait till its actually running and i start doing my other plans for it

The best news is i just got a sweet as job that i start tommarow. Im gonna be doing vallet parking at a beach club for a nice a** resort. $6 an hour plus tips, and from what ive heard tips are on average of $60-80 a day.

Damn its been a while... time to update lol

Well the jobs going great. Its not season right now, so im not making any amazing tips ($35-40 average on an 8 hr shift), but its still enough, and working full time my pay checks are at least $300 and ive just been putting them in the bank.

Plus, i get paid to park and drive up nice a** cars all day. I get to drive them a decent distance too haha. To name a few, ive driven a new 911 turbo S, a few carrera and carrera S's in stick, 335i's all day, an M5 and an M6 once, and S200 with some work done to it, all the new BMW, mercedez, and lexus, and ive driven this one guys CL65 AMG (twin turbo v12) a few times.

If your just finishing high school or starting college, this is an AWESOME job if you love cars. But enough about my job, heres how the cars coming along

Well me and my friend have spent countless hours trying to fix the wiring. The body harness was f*** when i bought the car, we tried making it work and got the inside lights, headlights, and fan blower all to work, but when we hit the ignition all we would here is a click.

We decided to just get a whole new body harness. Now idk why but instead of unpluging the old one and plugging the new one in, my friend thought it would be easyer to just cut and splice them together... he knows more than i do so i was just like ok whatever

So this is when we tried splicing the new body harness into the old one. There was a few extra wires from the new harness we ended up just splicing into the same color
Image

This time only the inside lights would turn on. No head lights, no fan blower, no click when we turned the key, f***!!!!

so we said f*** it and cut it
Image

I had decided the best idea was to just leave it cut, find an expert on this s***, and just pay them to do it right, once and for all, and be done with it.

heres my engine bay with the intercooler piping kinda on there. Were still trying to figure how the intercooler will mount to fit with the bumper support and all that, nothings final yet, just held together by couplers for now, but this is about how it will look

Image

The valve cover, and maybe the strut bolts will be painted purple to match the radiator hoses. The bov, zip ties, intake (not pictured) and couplers will stay blue and that will basically be the color scheme of the engine bay.

Image

I did my door panels in suede. Since the drivers one was cracked anyways, i decided to do it first so the passenger side would come out better, which it did

Image
Image

they look like s*** in pictures for some reason, but in real life they came out pretty good for not having any idea what i was doing. The hardest part was doing where it bends without getting wrinkles. I plan on doing my visors, headliner, shift boot, and most likely the arm rest and A-B pillars in suede to match

Thats pretty much it for now. Ive requested some time off work so ill have more time to work on the car, and hopefully now that im just paying sombody to finish the wiring and get the car to start, this thing will be on the road pretty soon

Also does anyone know what the f*** this thing is?
Image

it has wires that go to the speakers and the tweeters that were on the door panels when i bought the car

That's a cross over, although it looks like you have coax speakers. A crossover is used in a component setup to transfer the high frequencies to the tweeters and the lower frequencies to the mid-woofers

have you heard the speakers yet? the top two free terminals go to the tweeters, so that means all your hearing are the lower frequencies. take that thing out and connect the wire directly to the speaker

Is that a legit one or some s*** ghetto rigged setup? I dont know much about this audio stuff and what wires to what and all that. I want to take that thing out cause it looks stupid but i have no idea what it is.

havnt heared the speakers yet, i havnt turned the car on since ive bought it. Which wire are you saying i should connect directly to the speaker? im so lost lol

I have the clutch fan its just not on there. If i come across a good deal on an aluminum radiator with fans i will run that however. Reliability is the first thing im worried about after the car runs, i dont want overheating issues or anything like that to worry about

Really, i did not know that. All ive heard is that they are reliable and you can drive the s*** out of them without them giving you problems, but i know aftermarket rocker arm stoppers are good if you rev it high... thats the only thing i know

what would you recomend to take care of the cooling issue? What else can i do besides a new radiator and fans?

and thanks, the paint doesnt look amazing in person, i kinda stopped half way to finish the rest of the car. Im probably going to spray the hood again, buff it, and leave it like that till i just get it actually repainted professionally

It looks like the wire that plugs into the bottom two terminals come out the door, which is the one you'd want to connect directly to the speaker.

As far as if it's a good one or not, I don't know. It looks like some generic one but I might be wrong. I'd still throw it out and just get a new set of components if you want a nice sounding system
