+1 on your friend being an idiot.. really glad his car is trashed... maybe get him a hyundai for his next car... no reason why he should be doing 100mph on city streets... hope he gets serious jail time.. get him off the streets.. the other guy should sue his a** off...spacy9 wrote: Your buddy, to put it bluntly, is an idiot. What if that would have been a little kid on a bike, a pedestrian, etc... Or what if the person in the truck had died - he was going so fast the he FLIPPED THE TRUCK OVER, holy crap!
I'm almost happy that he totaled his 11 sec car, just not happy in the way he did it.
yes, he needs to stick to bumper cars at a theme park...and stay off our roadsav8or wrote:

Would you really want Americans with an Autobahn? In Germany they actually respect a car and the force/danger it travels with. The education and practice just to get the license is insane and as crazy as their driving seems to us, they know their roads and cars very well. I would be very hesitant about allowing this in America and I actually think this post shows just one of the reasons why.Tampa G35 Sedan 6MT wrote:
If the govt had a autobahn we would never have this problem on our streets! 70mph is way to slow for highway speeds. I could easily do over 100 all day long in our Infiniti and never have a problem!

One of our fastestcar in the club ( TeamZRP.com)He was flying 80-100mph on a empty street. No stop signs nor lights. It goes for about a mile. Some dude in a SUV was parked and all of a sudden started making a Uturn. My friend had no chance to slam the brakes. He hit the S.U.V. in its side and flipped that truck on its roof.Everyone is O.K.My friend came out from the hospital the next day without a bruise. Here are some pics....Enjoy....or not....
here is a truck
and now the GSX

By the way many drive around here 30 mph is way too high for the freeway. And yes to drive there you have to jump through hoops.uncbeers wrote:

Hope you don't think I'm bashing you. I just believe America isn't (and probably never will be) ready for their own Autobahn. A simple drive for 15mins will probably give you 15 reasons why.
One thing I noticed is a variable speed limit, something starting to show up in neck of the woods as well. Makes it interesting especially if you are one of those that have a GPS enabled radar detector with speed limit features.uncbeers wrote:Yup, 110% on Perry. I wasn't going to make my post any longer but their design is amazing. Oh, and they actually put money out to keep them up (out of necessity as much as anything).
Having been there off and on over the past few years I wouldnt be surprised to see the speed limit instituted all over. I feel like it is only small stretches without speed limits anymore. Still, the autobahn is something everybody needs to experience at least once (preferably with an experienced German driver).
It is very possible this truck driver actually seen the car and pulled out thinking that there was plenty of time to pull in front of a car doing 35.Joey666Crack wrote:I feel the need to take part in the bashfest myself.
On a small public street, I'm sure it was 2 lanes, or any street for that matter there is no reason to go 100+mph. There were no fly hunnies or straight bros to impress, as you said it was an "empty" street, and even if there were, keep it on the track.
I guess some people learn through expierence, and quite frankly I'm glad this experience brought a $30k+ burden upon this kid, and hopefully some jail/license suspension time.
K I'm done.
Probably not a big deal unless he was bragging about himself. We see a lot of posts however where the poster is talking about themselves. If I was looking for evidence against someone else I would be cruizin forum such as this. I know for a fact it happens all the time when it is a medical issue, so it would surprise me a bit if an insurance company would not do the same in a forum such as this.RED_DET wrote:I'm not sure if I would be bragging about this on a public forum. EXACTLY the problem with speeding. You are pulling out so you look once and see a car way down the road. The road you are pulling to is 35. So, you pull out. IF you had looked again you would have realized the guys speed due to how much closer he was the second time. But, most folks don't cause they assume the car is obeying the speed limit. Same problem with the crotch rockets zipping in and out of traffic on the HW.Somebody changes lanes, glances back it's all clear, starts to move over and BAM. Those things excelerate at rates most car drivers do not understand.Or, could be a car doing 120 and one glance, they are way back there so the guy starts to change lanes and BAM.....I know....beat'n a dead horse....Be careful guys/gals!!!pfarmer wrote:

I tapped a car once by not paying close attention after work, instead doing what I had done hundreds of times. I was behind another car making a right turn on to a 35 mph road. The car in front of me moves and then abruptly stops just as I started to move to take his place. No damage at all but the second look becomes important. What occurred is that another car was doing about 70 or so, came around this corner and the guy in front of me just barely saw him before pulling out. I looked in that direction and then tapped the guy in front. I never saw this car because of a fence and bushes that somebody decided to plant right in the way.SVTCOBRA wrote:EXACTLY the problem with speeding. I still kept my dragged racing ticket on my dashboard to remind me not to do it again..SVTCOBRA wrote:I think alot of us older guys come off as preaching to the younger guys about the dangers.
