I guess its good to have a police station a few blocks away from my school.
How is it a good thing that you were leaving them in the dust when you got out of the way?

I do agree with the track... I wish people respected the cars more and then we could have an autobahn in the US...

I never thought about it that way... Thanks guys!

But I still have a heavy foot and hate cops!

If one was approaching you at 70-80 and you left them in the dust, how fast does that say you were going on the street?

Way to fast, should be lined up on the wall with the rest of them.

sorry i know what i said was very vague i was just coming down one of our big steers (Geary street) its a 6 lane street 3 one way and 3 the other ans the speed limit is 45i was coming up to a light and i could tell from the street lights ahead that they were going in sequence to red and i was in no hurry so i just just rolled up towards the light when i saw the guy behind me so i floored it trough a yellow light and in my rearview mirror i saw that he came out past where my car was so he would have smashed right into me.i guess they stopped at the light to have a race thats when down a bit of a hill i saw the cop pull out onto the street so i told him that there were two racers behind meBtw i have no idea what my actual speed was and im actualy bad at jusdjing speeds so the guy behind me might have been going 60I was glad my G was ine piece.hope this explains it a bit better

Ok, well it sounds closer to something I had happen to me, in fact there were two bad days in a row other than the car I was in which was reliable but no one here would buy it.

Back in 1972 I had this special car that Ford made that had a big lift back window. Anyway I was at a stop light and in the right lane on a 4 lane highway. I looked in my rear view mirrow and this truck and flat bed type trailer rig had its brakes locked up and was skidding straight at me. I floored it and went around the corner to my right and he went straight through the intersection. Would have killed me if I did not see it in my mirror.

Now the goofy thing was the next day. At the same intersection but in the inside lane I was stopped. A pickup truck was pulling a trailer with an old Harley in it and tried to stop on the cross street to my right, he was in his inside lane. The trailer holding the bike simply pulled the truck all the way around and the trailer tossed the bike right smack in front of this 1972 Ford with the large windowed lift back. This would have been bad news if it hit me.

Now keep in mind that this particular Ford was originally designed to be a safety car complete with special fuel tank which in reality turned out to be 'special' in an entirely different way.

To all....Just started reading all the bashing...lolMy first post in few months and I get Yelled at...(SAD)lolGuys dont get me wrong. We do go to track. We are all against street racing. He wasnt racing nobody there. He was all alone going to pick his wife from work. And that 100mph somehow I dont believe it even tho he is my best friend. 100 mph is a lot. But back to what he did.It wasnt smart at all. He usually dont do that on streets. It just was a bad time to try to see what your car can do.He paid for his stoopid decision he made. He lost all the moneyhe put in the car. And if the other driver presses charges thenhe will be paying lot more then he invested in the vehicle.

The point is we don't all do it.

If this had happened to me I would most likely also be without a job. It is very fortunate the other driver is alive a well.

Now if we add it, we all have done it, then it would be closer to the truth since many of us have done something similar.

The other point is that MOST of us have done something similiar and were also IDIOTS for doing it, and were lucky something like this didn't happen. This is a reminder to MOST of us not to do something like this because of the terrible consequences that may happen.

I'm 47. I did STUPID stuff in my youth. I still lean into the curves and love to go 0 to speed limit as fast as I possibly can!!! But, I don't do triple digit speeds and do understand that poop can happen very fast at those speeds!!! I think this post is a good reminder of the consequences.

When you're caught up in the moment, it seems like a good idea - but when you really think about it, it's so not worth the consequences that could potentially come with it; speeding tickets, car impounding, deaths, yada yada...

IF we lived in a country that had autobahns, yes, it would be amazing. But that'll never happen.
