Hmm, I'm confused, I thought it was already done but you aren't able to get it until you get back home from Afgan?

But yeah, any details on this that you could provide would be awesome! I could then approach the shop I go to and see if they'd be up for it. Thanks for keeping us updated!

I'm looking forward to this as well. I hope there won't be any issues. I want to follow in your footsteps if it works out.

Good luck, I'm also looking forward to updates. Something I contemplate every day but always decide not to go with the transmission swap. I'm sure it'll be worth it

this thread looks promising. Progress pics + an actual dyno sheet = :dblthumb: This may end up being the be-all-end-all turbo thread. Good luck.

OK all I have a confession to make. Yesterday was the one year anniversary since my car has been at SFR. I've been keeping it a secret for over a year and now that someone is doing the same as me I will come out with it. I as well have been doing a transmission swap and adding the FAMOUS HLSD. I thank those few people who knew what I was doing and kept it a secret. The reason it's been taking so long is because Tim and the guys have been running into problems. So far I've been the first person to do this swap and now it's 98% done. Like I mentioned though problems have been coming while doing the swap which has paused the project to finish. All I have to say is for those who are interested in doing this mod in the future is to have a MIN of 15K ready to spend. To the OP goodluck with the swap dude and I hope your shop doesn't run into as many problems as SFR has. The guys at SFR are ALL MASTERS at what they do and the problems where unexpected/unavoidable.

keeping secrets can be hit or miss. Best scenario is u finish ur project in time and get to show it off to the world as being the 1st of its kind. Worst scenario is running into problems and having to let the cat out of the bag prematurely as others eventually decide to do the same thing. Anyways, good luck to both of u guys! Sorry to hear about ur problems, with all that money u put in, hopefully u'll be satisfied w/the end results. DYNO SHEET!

Thanks for the luck bruh. I ordered what Tim and I thought were the last parts 3 weeks ago and the plan/schedule for me to PU the car was going to be this past Saturday. Like I stated it's been a year since the SFR guys have been working on it, but still till today when the car is 98% done they are still running into problems.

I'm not here to thread jack Still-Breathing. I'm just letting him know how much time it's been for me not having my AC for a year and 1 day now. Once again Still-Breathing I'm not here to thread jack or steal your thunder dude. I'm just letting you know what to get ready for if the shop runs into all the problems SFR has ran into. If you don't mind me asking what was the quote your shop gave you for the whole swap. You can PM me if you'd like with a responce to that.

Yeah it's quite a difference. For me though the money isn't a problem. Cars are just a hobby of mine and I love to take each of them to the max of their potential. In the future I will also me taking my car back to SFR so Tim can build the whole motor from top to bottom. Then I can raise the boost and get roughly from what Tim said 600 HP and more. I know it's a FWD, but I don't care. Like stated cars are my hobby. I can go to the dealer buy a 370 (which is RWD) and do it up right now, but that doesn't interest me. What does is the AC.

To the guy with the transmission swap on the way, I thank you for telling me your shop is running into probs BUT my shop has one thing, I doubt yours does at there disposal, my shop has a 2009 altima 6spd coupe, that they are breaking down into piece, to make mine support the 6spd change over, so ever part they need they have right there just waiting to be removed =).
Oustide of that, naw the car isn't done yet, work starts monday, but yes I will not be able to enjoin my car until I return. I promise ya'll as they send me pics, I will post them day to day. Hopefully this will be done within the month they're telling me it will be done. Once the shop finishes, I will post the shops name/number for all those interrested, just tell them Toney sent ya =D. Unlike some other people I'm not keeping my car a secret copy my build if you like, so we can get the coupe in some PS3/360/PC/Wii games =D.

Nah SFR didn't have a spare car with all the parts. Tim had to do research to see what parts he needed to order. And as building along the way found parts that anyone would think are interchangeable, but aren't. Like the starter, axels, brake fluid resovoir and some other things. The only reason I was keeping it a secret was to surprice everyone when it's done and show that it could be done.

Do you have a 2.5 or 3.5 and where are you located dude?

Good luck on finding a wrecked 6MT. I just did a search in my area for 6MT's and there's like 3 total. One 2010 and two older used models. lol... That's within 100 miles of Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Mcheddadi thank you for inspiring me and everyone else to here on the HLSD. I was having a hard time finding one since they were on backorder in the US and Canada. I found a Nissan specialized shop in Ontario CA that had 5 new 2010 SE-R Spec V trannies and were nice enough to sell me one. They wouldn't sale me the HSLD only so I had to buy the whole transmission.

No it was hard for me to get the HLSD since they were on backorder in the US and Canada. I had to buy the whole transmission from the Nissan specialized shop so I can only take off the HSLD. The things giving SFR the issues are other parts that had to be ordered. Parts that you would think would be the same from a A/T transmission to the MT transmission. Like I said though the car is 98% done now. I was going to pick it up this past Saturday, but Tim had to order some wiring harnesses and misc small parts.

Should've traded yours for theirs

Jokes and punts aside, this eyebrow-raising swap lowers sell value, partially voids warranty and creates a financial hell. Still, curiosity makes it so that we will all watch this thread for updates - Good luck.

Yes it is a thread many will watch for updates. As I stated before this is Still-Breathing'sthread so when my car is actually done I will start a thread of my own. I will post all the problems that came up with my car and as much info as possible. If anyone has questions please PM me personally because I don't wanna keep posting about my build on someone elses thread ;) .

In response to, swapping trannies will void the warranty and will lower resell value. If you clearly read the title of post, it reads and I quote (myself =D ) "Hello 6SPD turbo", which means the warranty is void by having a turbo anyways. So the warranty isn't a issue and never the less if it was to become one, I can always strip the turbo and re-swap back to CVT being that I'm keeping the old transmission with it.

---- To answer the question about the swap, it is costing me 3.5k in the invoice, but I'm spending more than that though because I'm getting other work done to the car as well, outside of performance I'm getting smoked tail lights and the car is going down down like Jay Sean (lowering it as well).

---- Now to more relevant news, tonight I will be calling my shop to see if the work has started on my baby yet. Updates are soon to come with PICS, PICS, AND MORE PICS =D.

---- oh yea almost forgot I'm from Ga, Savannah to be exact, but atm living in NY because of the army.

Keep us posted on what the shop says dude. From what I heard and seen it's not that simple to swap back to CVT if needed. You pretty much have to drop the whole engine to swap the transmission, change wiring harnesses, remove the shift linkages and some other stuff. But hey if it comes down to it and you have to swap it back it can be done. I like you dude because you're just like me. You, like me, will do all needed to further enhance the performance of this car that many say "It's FWD". So you're getting the work done for 3.5K. That's a great price because so far I'm at like 12K and have to pay SFR for some other stuff when I go to PU the car. I'm sure the shop doing the work is the SIHT ;) . Sorry for the long post dude, but I'm interested in your build even though I'm doing the same because I like to see others go forward with their AC. We are all the people who will make the AC get further in the car world to get respect. So how much boost are you going to run dude? Are you paying for all the parts that they are taking from the other AC or is that included in the 3.5K? Do you have a 2.5 or 3.5 AC?
