Fair enough, its his money, granted it not like some one will walk by his car and say holy **** thats a RWD altima coupe.

Fun facts: the OPs name on his profile is John Doe, and he is apparently 18.

already did that to a G35 at the track and my friend's SRT-4

but would it be easier to just go AWD in a year or 2? i mean the 2009 Nissan Murano (went on sale the end of 2007) is based on the same platform as the Altima..... wouldn't it be easier to go that route? or maybe even get the rear end stuff from a Nissan Murano.... good luck with your project though, it'll be amazing if you can pull it off. you do know you'd have to post some burn out vids or pics of the back tires smoking it up in the altima right? lol

AWD Altima...That just gave me wood.

Anyways for 8k I'd invest that into a stage-2 Turbo

but i'm just asking if AWD would be easier being that the Nissan Murano is based on the Altima platform and is offered in AWD.... plus the murano is CVT right? so maybe a CVT guy could find a way to do that..... get it to launch at a really high RPM without any wheel spin and then hit redline pretty much right away and just stay at redline the whole way down the track lol not to mention handling would be improved (no more torque steer).

but for the record, i too would like to see something like this attempted lol

What the F*** does that have to do with anything? You're profile says your 19, it also says you don't own an A/C so stick to your own dam* forum before talking about our members.

Let's put this into perspective. 8500 dollars

4k for a turbo kit + 1 or 1.5k for a full stillen body kit +1.5 or 2k for sick rims and tires................ that's cheaper than what you're doing.

or 40k could have gotten u a g37 like some said.. or a loaded 350z.. or any other really nice rwd car. Seriously.. reconsider..

c'mon ppl, maybe this isn't the most economical or efficient way to do it but he's putting out the dough to make his ride one of a kind. May be it's not ur cup of tea but don't be flaming him about it. After all, you'll get to see a RWD Altima Coupe!

Are you serious right now? Just keep that in mind if you don't see anything come from this. Also I am in the process of trying to get an AC (already test drove one over spring break, ect..) but it wouldn't be happening until this summer because i'm at school. I've been posting here since i joined the forum and actually explained that in my first "hello" post.

I dont care if anything comes from this or not. All Im saying is respect the other members or don't post here. But the fact that you dont even own an a/c would keep a wise man from flaming someone who does. Not trying to incite anything, just sayin think next time. And I understand the whole student thing and not buyin the car yet too. I waited for a while too, until I was on the police force.

Alright I won't argue anything else but it wouldnt be hard to type in I have a AC in my profile now would it. I am probably jumping the gun here since he probably hasnt had any chances to post pics of his AC. I have never disrespected any members here, i browse to learn more about a car i am interested in and enjoy looking at and praising peoples rides.

Back to the real topic i'm more on the side of the people saying i'd rather spend the money on a g37 or the AWD idea, but if this gets done it will be pretty cool.

While that may be, it would be a cool project! I would start with a salvaged title Coupe(since resale will be $hit anyway) and go from there.. Salvaged 350Z+salvaged Atima= cheaper starting point.

If you could get a couple sponcers all the better...

If they find a unidentified dead body they name it "John Doe". Don't they have "Law and Order" in Canada?
