Hi all,

I have been desparately looking for an answer to my problem but I have no idea what to look for mainly because I know NOTHING about cars.. (yeah maybe just tiny bit since I am still a guy.)

Anyway, I have 97 Q45t with 170,000 miles on it. One day I started the car and it didn't start (it worked just fine the day before).

To be more precise, the car "tries" to start as it makes that starting noise but the engine doesn't get started.. It seems to me that battery is working fine but something that delivers the power from the battery to engine is not working.. (that was my logic)

I really don't wanna spend hundreds of dollars with towing and repair costs since I will be using the car only for next 6 month or so...

So could anyone help me please?

How many miles are you looking to get out of your Q in the next six months?

I'd consider myself a car newb also, but I do have an idea. I had similar problems with my '96 Q45 except mine would still start, it just took took a pretty long time. Yesterday I changed the fuel filter and it starts up and drives amazingly. It costs about $13 and it's well worth it. Mine was so clogged that when I tried blowing through it, I felt NOTHING on the other side. I've read that this should be replaced every 3,000 miles I believe, so if you're unsure of when it was last done I'd replace it. Also, cleaning the Throttle Body made a world of a difference for me...just take a $3 can of Carb and choke cleaner and spray away inside the TB until it comes out clear, as shown: http://q45.org/tbclean.html

Hope that helps.
