Yea im getting there still collecting parts so I can just do it. I have couple more things to pick up basically some lines, exhaust, and downpipe before I dig in. Ordered an AEM tru boost controller, greddy turbo timer, autometers boost gauge and narrow band air fuel ratio gauge plus I also ordered a lotek three gauge pillar. Also ended up with a new Avenir turbo setup that was just rebuilt and never used for $350. :werd:

UPDATE!!! Got all my gauges installed in the pillar and also got the turbo timer mounted in the dash slot. I got the air fuel ratio gauge and the light for the boost gauge all wired up and working. I am going to wire the turbo timer some time this week since the turbo doesnt need to be in to have it working. Also need to wire the boost controller but going to wait till the turbo is in to do that. I also just ordered a BRM 3" stainless cat back with resonator from Nico's very own Greg (AZhitman) today. All I need now is the downpipe and the cat (or test pipe) before I can go ahead with the rest of the install. I will post some pics up of the 3" cat back after I recieve it from Greg. :dblthumb:

very nice build good luck! :) this is just my 2 cents but woudnt that 3inch exhuast realy hurt the torque you should of stuck withthe 2.5 inch but thats just my opinion but so far so good i like it

Thats not entirely true on a turbo motor, since the turbo itself already creates back pressure by nature the only thing that going to a bigger pipe on the exhaust system creates is a quicker spool up time for the turbo since there is less restriction after it.

Back pressure in the exhaust is the enemy of a turbo also because the pressure pushing back during different strokes can create A. lag and B. The reverberation of the air back towards the turbo can damage the turbine wheel by trying to spin it the other way while its already spooled up. So bigger is better when going turbo although 3" is as big as you should go on an sr20.

Also a little update just got a autometers oil pressure gauges (trying to find a plce to mount it lol) and all my inter-cooler piping sorted out. I also ordered my nissport egr block off plate and nissport oil sending unit adapter. Plus I took off the bumper and re-cut it and made the inter-cooler some bottom mounts so it doesn't move all around. Heres a pic of the redone bumper!! ;)

Haha thanks man its getting there still not done and still not quite turbo'd but its getting there.

Little update for those of you following along. Been pretty busy so havent gotten a whole lot done but what ever it is what it is...... a project car. I got my oil pressure gauge in and also switched out my Autometers narrow band A/F ratio gauge for a AEM UEGO wideband A/F gauge. Getting the bung welded on the downpipe sometime this week for the AEM wideband sensor. Also got my Walbro 190LPH fuel pump in. Heres an excellent link on how to install a walbro in a B14 http://www.sr20forum.com/technical-info ... p-b14.html Also picked up two 12" slim fans for the radiator with the mounting straps. Got everything to go in but just started to get cold around here so we will see what gets done when. If all goes well and we get a break in cold weather I'll hopefully be drilling the block for the oil return line within the next couple weeks and be turbo soon after.

Josh

I'll post some pics of the new gauges soon :werd:

Well its finally happened car is in pieces in my garage up on the ramps with all my spot lights set up. Block is drilled for oil return, ran into some issues with the upper oil pan though it still needs to come off to clean out the shavings in the block since one bolt stripped out on it (got a damaged bolt removal kit coming in for that). Also getting everything else all figured out for final button up. Ran into some interference issues with the wastegate actuator and the block but ordered a new actuator bracket and actuator to fix this problem. Pics of progress coming soon!!!!

lmao thanks man its getting there little by little seriously the biggest helps have been nametakennow's How to turbo NA SR20's article and there are multiple articles that I have been diddling around on and researching for the last couple years on SR20forum.com that have helped big time. Hopefully this turbo pictorial of my car may help someone out some day so at least they'll know what they're looking at/for. And guys feel free to PM me questions about turboing sr20's if you got any.

Heres the update for today....

Got the top oil pan off (with that damaged nut tool remover I ordered) and cleaned it up

Heres my Nissport oil adapter with the stock oil pressure warning thing on the end, my autometers oil pressure adapter on the top and the turbo oil line on the bottom.

More updates got everything wired, oil pans back on, and decided to run the battery to the trunk. All intake, catch can, vacuum, oil and cooling lines run. All intercooler pipes cut and run. Ran into one issue though VRS downpipe exhaust flange was off about 10 degrees going to the turbo so had to cut the flange weld and am getting it re-welded this weekend. Yes I know that not all the t clamps are not on the intercooler piping had to order some more and still trying to figure out how to get the kink out of the recirculator line. Also going to pick up a new carbon hood for it this thursday!

lmao still not quite done going to have it dyno tuned very soon. I talked to the shop that will be tuning my car (styling and performance outta Manchester CT) John the owner convinced me to also changed the out stock sr20 maf to a Z32 300zx one. Said I should be able to push around 12psi with that upgrade! On the looks end I ordered a stillen front lip and will have a Lucino badgeless front grill coming in also. Looking to get the body work done this spring and have this car show ready for the 2011 season.

Well a lil update car was running great got it tuned hit 238hp and 268ft lbs of torque at 12psi. Went out on one of the colder days this year and the turbo spiked to 18psi need less to say the motor went pop. Looked into doing a whole motor build for about 8k that I had laying around and then decided to move in a different direction and bought a Z. Will be fixing the 200 eventually (buying a new motor and putting it in) but for now its cruising time in the Z and the Sentra

Heres a pic of my new 05 350z roadster

Well it's the end of the 200sx for me finally sold it to a good friend who has turned around and fixed it but the z now has a red roof, JDM clear corners, JWT intake, ARK true dual exhaust, and it's slammed on ISC coilovers.
