Updates are a little slower these days. Should have another in a month. Don't know how to turn on my messages, didn't even know this site had them. I'll look around.

I'm going to use my EMS 30-6620 on my V8 swap.

I was under the impression that [all] AEM EMS Series 2s can support up to (8) eight coils.

I flipped through the installation guide but don't see (2) additional 0-5v/ output spares for use.

Is wasted spark the only way to use a 30-6620 that's PnP for a V6 VG/RB on a V8 VH motor?

Any help on this will be great!

I'm using a series 1 Honda box. It only has 5 coil outputs so I'm running waste spark.

Your 6620 has 6 enabled outputs, but from what I understand the series 2 has 8 outputs. In Tuner, go to Display>Coils to enable coils 7 & 8.

Wow! That was easy and much thanks @XJared for a speedy response.

Whelp, I cracked open AEMTuner v2.98 and pulled up the coil display as you suggested and noticed [Coil #7 & Coil #8] were not active.

Checked those boxes. :chuckle:

So, now that they're enabled, which wire positions from the EMS side have become active?

As I look through the install guide the only "spare" 0-5v analog/digital pins are characterized as input signals.

Here's a snapshot of pins 104 & 37 I'm referring to:

Additionally, the guide doesn't clearly illustrate the spare coil pin #'s unless it requires identifying two free output spares and configuring them for the output firing group order and phasing.

Any thoughts?

Ideally I'd like to get the EMS setup properly so later I can add the twin fire to increase the spark and dwell for greater efficiency.

Two steps forward and one step back. I need a degree more negative camber in the RF.

Some light throttle acceleration. Still no hood. Redneck style FTW.
