Also I spanked a late model Prelude. We were also up to 130's but I left him like the mustang left me.

Oh yeah we were at an Oval track somewhere over there.

Nice race. Saleens arent slow but definately not the highest quality mustang. try a '03-04 cobra with a eaton intercooled charger. hehe. bolt ons and chip make 440rwhp. hehe. my RB26-s14 will catch his *** if I ever get it together but just waiting parts now. grrr

You be tter have not lost to a honda, it would be a shame.

Okay, another race story. I was driving down the road (on a local race track) at night and caught up to a new Celica complete with body kit and 5" exhuast. His car actually sounded good. No matter how we raced whether a light from a dead stop or from 30 mph with him getting the jump, my car just pulled from him hard.

It got really interesting when an Eclipse 2nd gen(don't know what kind) took the third lane. All three of us from dead stop. I thought they would get me off the line. Also to keep my wheels spinning I thought to start slowly then catch up by the end of 2nd gear. They were reving and had a full second of wheel spin. I started the way I wanted and actually took off before they did. Never had them next to me after that. Seriously spanked them!

I love my car.

Yellow- I am currently running stock boost- stock waste gate, and blow off valve. On my boost gauge, the highest it registered was 14 psi but I only hit that once and I cannot hit that again no matter how hard I try. It has settled at 11 psi since.

Alex- I don't have AIM set-up and my computer at home is dead. Just email me at [email protected] today. I will keep checking my mail today till 11 tonight. Give me your number and I'll call you. Nice car BTW.

Damn my friends motor must be a lemon lol. His boost is only 6psi even with downpipe, exhaust.intake manifold. My RB20 feels just about the same as his and it's all stock right now.

When I try to hit the highest rpm in any gears, it sounds or feel like it is not getting enough fuel. But my AF gauge shows rich. It doesn't really feel like a rev limiter. I don't think it's a fuel cut either. I just know that when I hit it, I just need to shift real quick.

Only upgrade I have fuel wise is a walbro pump. SHould I replace my fpr to an adjustable one? Will I need to get a fuel pressure gauge?

Don't trust that a/f gauge for starters. My buddy was dyno'ing his car and his was showing rich when he was at 15.2:1 a/f ratio..they're really not good...heh.

I'd think you are probably running a little rich with the walbro, an safc with a wideband would cure that nicely.

An adjustable FPR can be gotten on ebay with a gauge for a decent price, just remember you get what you pay for..they sometimes leak or don't work at all with the cheap ones. You'll need the gauge though, so you can set it to stock pressure.

Update- With these hot Cali days (93* temp) my coolant was boiling in my reservoir. Actually melted the thinplastic cap. So I changed my reservooir to a bigger one. I also drained my radiator and filled it up with distilled h2o and this Pro-blend additive. It functions like the Water wetter but it says it reduces temp up to 40* ($26 at autozone). Water wetter claimes down to 20* only.

Ran it a few times and I think it works. No more boiling over. My temp gauge actually goes down when I am just idling for a few minutes.

Raced a few cars also. Raced a Civic that looked and sounded good. Complete with roll-cage inside. Killed him. He even asked for another chance. Wasted him. Then a SL500 Kompressor stepped up with us and he wasted both of us.

I also raced a White S14 last night. Spanked him. Kept on racing me. Kept on spanking him. He was a snobby one. I would have talked to him but he just kept on trying to beat or loose me :) He couldn't do either and he finally turned into a smaller street.

With all that racing last night, no boiling over.

Update:

Car is running good. Just got the FPR but don't know when I will put it on.

Last race was this 350Z that had "nismo" labels all over it. All I could see was a polished aftermarket nismo exhaust. Going on the on-ramp I followed him closely. He took the corner slow. Around 35 mph. Comming out he went for it. By instinct I hit the gas but I was still comming out of the turn so got a little squirly but recovered quickly. Got right on his *** right away. No matter what gear he's in, I was there. He couldn't lose me and I felt I still had enough juice to take him if we were side by side. I even had to ease my foot off the pedal a couple of times. All this happened before we got on to the freeway. Once we hit the freeway we had to slow down because of traffic.

I got next to him rolling down the window and he gave me the finger as I was giving him a thumbs up. Then I shrugged my shoulder smiling showing no offense and he finally gave me a thumbs up. I couldn't believe that I kept up with him like that.

Next was another 240 s13 who tried to lose me on the road. I easily passed him up. He rolled down the window saying "you got an SR, huh!" I smiled and said "RB". We pulled into a station and I showed him what I got. He gave me "mad props" :)

I tested according to instructions which was a hot engine, didn't touch the fuel at all, and all the plugs were out. #1 - 150#2 - 144#3 - 145#4 - 140#5 - 143#6 - 145

Old plugs (auto lites app 3924-11) looks good. All were greyish tan. Replaced all with NGK Irid (bkr6eix-11 3764). Gapped from factory.

As far as the fpr, the instruction states "All products are checked and set fuel pressure from factory. Be sure to set the fuel pressure after installation." Does that mean it is set close to the right pressures? Or do I really need to adjust it a lot after installing it? I didn't install it since I couldn't get a gauge from the auto stores.

Sorry to post this here also but this has become my personal journal.

Well, got bored tonight since these forums are slow. So I went for a drive and found a white WRX "psst'ing" all over the place. Made a u-turn and hunted him down the road. Easy kill. Had a big exhaust and bov to atmosphere is all I know.

This fever is so bad. I actually waited for a Cobra outside of home depot for 5 minutes. Then I thought it was ridiculous. so I went home.

I'm bored.

I'll hit you up sr240z. Damn, I'll miss September due to a fishing trip in Mexico.

No safc. I just need to see what I can do with a mustang. I really want to race a GT first then move up to a cobra but I've been hunting them too long and never been up against one yet. Win or lose, it will be a good race.

I'll race anything. I raced a sl500 kompressor and that killed me. With the rb. I had fun.

Man, I am loving it!

Comming home I raced an old accord riced out with wings. Running through the gears from 3rd to fifth. Fourth is when I would start to pull away but when I shift to fifth is when I say "see ya". Same with a 2nd gen eclipse that was blowing off it's valves at me. When they get up to the fifth gears is when the RB takes over. It just keeps on accelerating and they just drop off. Both instances I would stop when I get about 4-5 car lengths ahead of them. I tell you one thing was that this 240 surprised them! They come up and slow down grinning and you know the look they got on their faces, the "you want some" look. Well I was the one grinning at the end. It's so cool when your car isn't the one giving up because it had a speed limiter or it was just running out of juice. I love my RB!

Recently changed my temp sensor to a ka24e sensor. I was using the RB sensor for awhile with the ka cluster. The sensor was reading so slow. If I am idling it for a couple of minutes the temp gauge would slowly go down. Now that I changed it it reads as it should. But when I am idling, it doesn't seem like it is cooling down. I know, I should just get an aftermarket gauge.

I finally got to race a SR powered 240 a few nights ago on the freeway. About 4-5 runs. Each time he'd come from the back and I would just reel him in. We never started together. I just kept passing him. Don't know if he has a speed limiter and don't exactly know how fast we went up to since my speedo isn't accurate after 80. I rolled down the window and asked if he had an SR and he said yes. Don't know what psi he was running but he was blowing off his BOV. He was also starting at third on the freeway and I think I never even shifted down to third. Got off the same offramp and he wouldn't want anything to do with me after a couple of lights. I do suspect he has a boost controller since the last 2 runs it seemed harder for me to catch up.

My temp gauge however was showing high, very high. I wasn't too concerned because I didn't have a problem with it before. I got home and checked under the hood and my coolant reservoir was only 2/3 full and the water wasn't boiling.

Is there a difference between the ka24e and the ka24de temp sensor? BTW, I got it from a junkyard for $3.

I also just put in S14 95 front seats. They hold much better and is firmer than my old ones. I think my old seats look better as far as shape, though.

xjon, how long did you break you motor in for? I ws told 100 miles will do since its not a new motor or a rebuild and that everything is pretty much seated, you just have to worry about lubrication? Is this true?

I took it easy for around 500 miles just because I installed a new clutch. But if nothing new, then I would give it a 100-200 miles of easy driving just to let things settle in. I also changed the oil after 500 miles.

I am going to have to ease up again here pretty soon since I will be installing new front rotors and pads.

I always recommend breaking it in AS IF it were a rebuild...nothing above 4000RPM for 500 miles, change oil nothing too wild, no hard launches for another 1500 miles, change oil then go to town.

still at 18.3 mpg.

First drive in rain today. Manageable. Fogging inside is the problem.

Drove O'Neil road today nice and mellow. Average speed 41.3, max 77.7, time 6:44, trip 4.6

note: was stopped by CHP since they were filming a Volvo commercial. But the time on the GPS stops when stopped.
