Make sure you tell them how good it ran, and how you put a lot of money into it. They won't give you your total value but they'll give you a bit more usually. Also, tell them these cars are hard to find and yours was in really good condition, they'll try to give you bluebook, which is a lot lower than you can actually find a 240 these days. They have to give you fair market value. Which Bluebook does not always represent, go to autotrader.com and print out all the expensive

92 240sx's you can find (in any area), then show them that they are similar and that's how much it will cost you to buy another. Using this method I was originally offered $5,700 for my truck, and I got it up to $7,000. My truck was a 1997 Automatic 4cyl (KA24E) w/174k miles. However we had it since it was new and it was in perfect condition (aside from the transmission slipping from me racing). In any event, I couldn’t have gotten anywhere near 7k for it actually selling it. A dude in a big Van hit me, it smashed into my bed because my truck was lowered 4” in the rear. The bed hit the cab, and ya… bent bent bent, everything. The body shop said for them to get it perfect they’d have to buy a new truck practically. But they could get it (decent) for 2000. So I went from a 1997 Nissan Pickup w/auto and 174k miles, to a 1995 Nissan 240sx SE w/117k miles

I was happy. I miss me truck though

Get all you can, belive me, 240s aren't cheap these days (if you plan on getting another).
