Sorry, but can you post more pictures of this exposed wiring? I can't quite see them in your first picture.

Yes my LEDs are wired to the halos, so they both turn on together. I also noticed this gap between the halos and the reflective disc, but i kind of pushed them in and it just popped into place, but there's still a small gap haha. I don't really notice it anymore, so i'm pretty indifferent about it. So far i still lovee these lights :)

I emailed the seller (Sabersport) and he actually went down to his warehouse for me to check it out against other lights. He sent pics back and they are in fact supposed to have that huge gap. I guess Im going to have to pull the halo wires back or something and cover them with electrical tape because they are the only reason you actually notice it is there.

Snowing now, cant install these for a while.

Haha yeah. Its been a quiet winter out here though. The only real snow we had all season was back on Halloween and that storm F'ed people up. I lost power for 4 days from that bastard.

Hey guys,

I have been chatting these lights up on another thread but figured I would post here too and get some more input.

I have a grey 2008 A/C. I really love the looks of these lights and the OP has given me some insight on them that I appreciate. I'd really like to do the install myself since 1) it saves money and 2) I do enjoy tinkering on vehicles. My best friend owns a performance shop so if I end up getting stuck I am sure he would be willing to lend a hand.

Just wondering when you guys wired these up if the halos rings turn on when you turn on the park lights? I am assuming that is the easiest way and that way you don't have a random switch on your dash just to turn on the outer halo rings.

Secondly, with a gray vehicle which do you think would look better? The chrome or black ones?

And lastly....(I asked this in another thread) but do HID's fit in these housings? I am assuming they don't come with bulbs so I would like to order a set of HID's I can put in them if in fact they actually fit.

Firedancer: yes i wired them up to the parking lights for convience. I didnt want to put a separate switch or anything. Personally i think the black housing headlights would look good on any color haha. Just my preference. And as for the HIDs, mine came with both high and low beam bulbs but they were halogen. I bought separate HID bulbs for these. If you want HIDs you'll need to get H7 bulbs i believe in order for them to fit. (the housing changes the lowbeam bulb size from H11 stock to H7)

The way these are wired out of the factory connects the parking lot and the halos. All you have to do is connect the parking light wires and the halos will also turn on with the LED strip running down where the stock parking light is.

I would be careful with HIDs though. Dangeris (our own projector retrofit guru) advised me that even though HIDs technically burn cooler, the optics cause much more heat inside the reflector bowl. These eBay bowls are not made for a lot of heat and after time the reflective coating will literally start to bake off. He has pics of this, they are in another thread if you do another search. I bought PIAA replacements for the bulbs that come with these from the factory.

Thanks again both of you for the reply.

The bulb problem races my eyebrow a bit. Would be nice to have HIDs in them but at the same time DJ brings up a good point. Really hate to sink $500 into these only to have the coating melt off.

I should mention that I don't drive my car that often. It's a secondary car that usually sits in the garage as I can't stand taking it to work or school to have it sit in the parking lot collecting door dings. So I don't know, maybe it's worth chancing throwing some H7's in the housing.

DJ, I read through all your initial issues with these. Did you get it all worked out and overall happy with your purchase? Sounds like you did a lot of tinkering to get them to stop moving around etc. Were they all out of aim or tough to align?

I havent installed them yet. I just got the bulbs for them Monday and its been way too cold to get them in. I might not do it for another few weeks. I will say that I tested the halos and they look great. As for headlights and cutoff, cant comment until I get them on the car.

Well, i'm totally fine with my lights. in fact i love them, and i've had no problems with them. even if there were problems, my ebay seller says if anything happens he'll send me new ones as long as i pay shipping. oh yeah, and a problem i ran into after installing is adjusting the headlights. i learned the hard way. Usually on the stock ones, you can stick a cross head screwdriver in this hole and just turn it. These headlights don't have a cross to turn them with. they just have a round hole. So i just had to heat up a screwdriver enough to melt the plastic into a cross LOL so i could turn them. However you guys can avoid this problem if you just adjust it first and then place if on the car and see if its adjusted correctly.

LOL damn it you guys are killing me here!!

Every time I am about to pull the trigger and order these things someone let's out a warning. From the over heating if you put HID's in and now it seems like they are pretty tough to align.

You kinda lost me on the whole headlight aiming there Jeffreey. Are you saying you installed them, put your front bumper back on, and then realized they needed to be aligned therefore it was a huge pain in the a** since the bumper was already on?

I think I am going to get these regardless. I am just trying to decide if I am going to do them myself, or try to talk my buddy who owns a performance shop into helping me put them in and pay him with a generous amount of food and beer. I live in North Dakota so maybe that is the best option since he has a giant heated shop. It's just no fun to work in my tiny garage with no heat when it's 15 degrees outside.

Haha sorry i lost you, i'm bad at explaining things. Yes basically i'm saying adjust them first, before put the bumper and everything else back on.

Btw, do any of yall see my new signature? its my car and the lights turn on and off..i'm not sure why but i only see it in a few posts. When does my signature show up?

Sig only shows on your first post in each page.

The adjustment "knob" on these is actually a hex nut, you need to use a socket or wrench to turn it. There is one top facing and one rear facing, they are connected through a sprocket. Or, melt the top and use a screwdriver I guess.

They wont be hard to adjust once you have them on the car. Like Jeffrey said, install them, adjust before you put the bumper back on, good to go.

Jeffreey916 did you have any issues with fogging on the inside when you first installed them? Only my driver side is fogging. I threw on both the projector and the high beam and unscrewed the parking light connection and most of it escaped but not all of it. If you did, how long did it take to go away?

those are beautiful pictures from the OP, i don't think i'm good enough to install them myself as i'm not that savvy, how much would they run to have em done and should i buy them online and bring it to a shop? if anyone in NY has a recommendation on where to go for a decent price let me know!

haha guys just to clarify the fogging issue.. I have fogging because.. i dont live in Houston, nor Sacramento, nor anywhere warm.. I live in Indiana , and travel to cities like detroit and chicago.. not trying to say jef halo set have any fog issue but since we do have the same brand or type of lights and the fact that we do live in place where temperature range greatly.. if you live up north where temperature range from 40-70 at summer or 0-40 in winter.. You will probably get fog issue like I did .. other than the fog issue, these lights been holding up pretty good..

This is my original post, If anyone wonder what these light look like on a red coupe.

Devil I know thats what causes it, the big swing in temperatures. I live in NJ and temp. went from 30 yesterday morning to 61 in the afternoon.

BUT, it should eventually go away once all the moisture inside escapes, Im just wondering how long it is going to take to do that. I think once it gets warm and stays warm Im going to open up the back for a few hours and let it all escape, then close it up and hopefully be good to go. Are you still getting fogging issues?

they came with regular halogen bulbs, but you can easily change it to HIDs, you just need to buy a different size H7 i believe. still no problems with fogging.
