front Z32 KYB GR2 struts with oem springs.Pretty stiff if you ask me all the scrapes is the mud flaps. My oil pan is already dented in with no leaks.I was lucky. When i go on a road that's unlevel the car goes over it instead of pushing the tire in or rubbing.I drove it at 70MPH and felt super smooth.I pushed down on the car and it barely moves down.

Problem that has happened or better yet I realized. My third link is bent a little bit.Still got the bolt in by force but will hit the pick n pull sometime soon I hope to replace it.

Everything was torqued to it's specs.Another problem is I dropped the rear Z32 struts this morning on it's top and now it's leaking.Did I bust it?Thanks.

I did this for me so if you got bad comments post away cause I know I'm gonna get flammed for not fixing the engine first. Look at this way in 2months I wont have access to a auto shop and do things for free.

Something I learned today. The wider the spring coil circle the softer. The smaller the spring coil circle the stiffer.Spring rate is also calculated by how many coil you got and how thick they are.I think I said it right.

Oh yeah I had to edit this. The 94-96 Q45,which TheJapino has,had to have the Q45 strut bushing pushed out and pressed into the Z32 strut.I have a 93 Q45 and it slipped right in and was the same size as the Q45 one.The tower holes had to be grinded/filed down closer just a bit.I used a power tool to do it made it much easier.

My hand slides in until my knuckles only and it doesn't rub.

Front lip,it's been scratched from stock height.

On Eibachs, mine sits that low all around. I'm running the OEM 15'' BBSs for winter (still!) and the 215-15-65 tires are tucked in the fenders. The car is crazy low and it makes picking driveways somewhat of a strategic thing. When I get the summer 17''s back on it'll raise a little more than an inch which makes a huge difference. I can't get my floor jack under the rockers on the 15s.

I'm interested to see what you plan to do for the rear. Z32 rears don't bolt on.

What mods are needed?I mean they look exactly the same.In the FSM.I was thinking of removing it and comparing. That was the plan for the fronts but ahhh I couldn't wait hahaha. After I found out it only took me 30minutes.

I think I might do with what you did but I need a good weld.Gonna have to start practicing.I guess I wasted money on the rears then.

We'll see.I'm planning on getting some 18's after.I am digging the 15's though. Maybe it's just me.

Tough to get the jack under mine as well. I need to get one of this low profile floor jacks. That would make life much easier.

Get that rear suspension figured out and loose the pie pan wheels as soon as possible. Those wheels are the only aspect of the Q45 I have never liked.

Keep it up and you'll have a sweet "custom" ride...Down with OEM!

Yeah, Baby!

Let's put on weaker springs ans shocks! That baby will handle now, at least until it hits a twig in the road!

Dumb beyond belief.

Calm down the insulting remarks period. This is not open for debate based on your perceived value of making these comments.

The front wheels look like they're afraid and hiding.

supposedly the rear bolts on if you use the g50 top hat. can't say 100%, but if they're blown there's no point just yet anyway.

Yeah I know.I asked my teacher he says it's leaking. We're gonna check them out tomorrow I guess. It's stiff but I dunno how the hydraulic fluid came out?Dropping it maybe made it slip out a bit? Im gonna test fit them tomorrow just to confirm the mods needed.

Since the car was sitting and ever since I hit the curb the out part wearing out.My third link is bent a bit.It holds the front wheel a little back and my tension rod bushing is broken too.Im gonna test fit the rears if the strut looks bad then i'll just toss on the tension rods and try to order the third link or pick n pull.I keep scrapping my mud flaps. The driver side not even the passenger.Because of the third link in the driver side the driver side a bit higher than the passenger. Makes me wanna Yack just thinking of it but it'll be fixed soon at least I hope. When I get new tires I might get meaty ones in the back.

Paul look at the first pic you can see what part is wearing out.

My car has a muscle car stance.... lowered on Eibachs, 16" 225/55 up front and 225/60 rear.... sits as low as a 2001 Camaro SS

Sounds like a Camaro SS too.

How is the body roll during sharp turning? I have little roll but its harsh. I would like an upgrade

The body roll well i need to do some studies on that to determine it.All I can say right is it turns good it grips better then dipping me sideways like it did before. I'm gonna try and lower the rears tomorrow no guarantees.

Will look good with wheels/tires and the back down. Looks a bit silly now. It's entertaining at least. Keep pluggin through all this shiz and you'll make it, I'm rooting!

The rear z32 struts were fine until i dropped one.It broke the seal and now it's leaking.I got one good one bad and the sellers want to sell me two when I need one.

I put my tension rods on.One was too long so we had to shorten it.Yes that's correct I bought them and one came shorter than the other. My teacher cut it down for me and looks great.Rides better and NO MORE "CLUNK" from the rod that had a broken bushing.Post pictures later or tomorrow. It's still raining.I scrapped today bad. No the cross member or oil pan, since my oil pan is already pushed in with no problems, but my mud flaps. I'm gonna trim them soon.So now i'm gonna ride for a week with a muscle stance.

Everybody in my class likes how it sits.Just need to save up for some upper arms in the front.

So I finally got my Z32 rear KYB GR-2 struts.Put them on today and not impressed.Rear didn't drop as much as the front. Maybe it has to settle over night?

shocks don't settle, springs do. wouldn't expect anything out of used springs.

where are the new pics?

It dropped a bit but not as low as the front did.I know that's what I mean the shocks. They were 2inch smaller than the rears and still almost no difference. I will take some tomorrow I'm in a bad mood right now.Females don't ask.I want coilovers soon.Applying for a job now.

there's so much geometry involved in suspension it's not as simple as x shorter = x drop.

you might want to try out ground control sleeves or even z32 drop springs since you already have the strut setup goin. i doubt it would be hard to find something in the classifieds on the low.

i don't think it's wise to assume that someone who is not trained in suspension/parts engineering knows what he's talking about.

oem will always be the safe card because you can rely on someone else's skill and knowledge.

have any of you ever actually read the specs? z32 has a higher spring rate and higher damper compression/rebound. given, neither of those things guarantee a stronger setup, nor does a car that weighs in 500 lbs over.

I got pictures give me a second.I found out my driver side higher then the passenger.Gonna have to look into it next week. I think I will find springs.

Oh by the way incase you guys think OEM stock Q springs are stiffer they are not!!!Wide springs are more for luxury style and smooth. If you look at coilovers they never have wide springs. The less wider the stiffer. At least that's what I was taught. Also the amount of coils give it a difference. If I'm wrong eh teach me.

You think the front OEM Q45 spring would fit on the rear struts?

I might try this combo tomorrow on my blown strut that I had before. The bottom of the Q front spring is shorter I think and also goes from small to big.

Unknown007, this is a little off topic but for fun do a search on ORBS, if you don't already know what those are, then look at your photo's you took at night of your car. I like to look at stuff like that for total fun, and entertainment. You may have fun trying to figure out why those "ORBS" are surrounding your car heavily.
