The other day, after I wake up, my dad tells me "Hey, I had your muffler and catalytic converter replaced." He had the muffler replaced with one just like the stock one and the cat with a test pipe. My car's tone is an embarrassment. It's loud and raspy and it pops like a redneck's truuck with the pipes cut off. I find myself driving slower because I am ashamed of the sound when I give it gas. Please help me out here. What is the problem? The test pipe? The muffler? Also, I notice a major loss of low end torque.. Should this be expected, maybe because of less back pressure? And advice will be appreciated. Thanks guys!
Well, to start with.. what did you have before, was it entirely stock?
If he only replaced it with a stock type muffler and a test pipe you should not have any loss in torque.
Don't be embarrassed about the sound of your car. If you are that sef-concious I wish you luck in lfe. If your friends judge you based on how your car sounds than they are freakin lame.
