My EX250 can average 55~60mpg. This is with a 15 tooth front front to lower the RPMs ~800 in 6th gear.

Yes, everyone does do it wrong...Dattebayo wrote:Isn't that the way everyone does it?

That is more believable.charlieo wrote:So yeah, my SV650 gets 50-60.sultan wrote:i get 60+ with my sv650
You're doing good, my old 720 4x4 only got 8-9mpg city and you didn't even think about the highway with it. You were lucky if it would get past 45mph...PEZi720 wrote:the 720 gets around 12 city 18 highway.... average for me is usually 16
w00t!
My riding is hardly normal acceleration, and when I do act normal (my commute), my drive distance is sub 5 miles, so my numbers are going to be low. People commuting on SVs on routes that don't see over 60 or much stop and go report 60+. Don't compare your carb'd 250 to a modern, low-stressed fuelie like the SV650.PoorManQ45 wrote:That is more believable.charlieo wrote:[

He said 60+ before. I can barely do that on the 250 if I accelerate at a normal pace and obey speed limits.
I guess. I usually rev the hell out of the 250 too... So my numbers might be relatively low too. Changed the sprocket to lower RPMs. EPA claimed mileage was like 65~70mpg...charlieo wrote: My riding is hardly normal acceleration, and when I do act normal (my commute), my drive distance is sub 5 miles, so my numbers are going to be low. Plus your huge head adds a bunch of wind resistance.
