Is there a different setting in the ECU for this? My car always idles at 700 rpm (and stumbles at times), but when I reached full stop, it goes back up to 900-1000 (where I set the base idle to be)

With the car in neutral moving fwd or backwards should make no difference. The only thing should be loaded or unloaded.

It could have something to do with the brake booster, giving the intake manifold more air when braking. Also a car will idle faster when cold and lower when hot, you may already know that.

There should be no difference between moving idle and stationary idle though, the engine doesn't even know if it's moving in nuetral.

i was just thinking about this. My car idles kinda high 875rpm , but if i'm coasting at any speed in neutral the engine stays at 1100 rpms. weird.

I'm not referring to moving fwd or backward, but when moving vs. stationary.

I started a new thread for studying this:

is that rolling with neutra or in gear (clutch pushed in)?

either way, the rpms drop to about 750ish or 800 coasting with the clutch disengaged or in nuetral-it's as if my ecu thinks the car is stopped...I could be coasting in gear, pop it in nuetral then coast to a stop and the idle would be at 800 the whole time.

I'm thinking that you might have an electical issue or a minor vac. problem.
