OK its not a true "motorcycle" but i used to ride a 86 Honda Elite 150 around before i got my drivers license. I was coming out of the gas station one day when i hit a patch of sand or dirt. The bike slid on its side about 10 feet and i ended up on my back sliding right behind it. I had on d!ck blue jeans and a leather "b0mber" style jacket and a half helmet(kind that covers your head but not your face). Some DOT guy in a jeep say it and wanted to take me on home and leave my bike there. The damned bike was sitting there on its side idleing fine. didnt really mess anything up too bad. Just broke one turn signal off and busted a side faring in half. Ive still got the bike and plan onn fixing it up soon to use again (70mpg is calling me)

Not so my friend. I am as big as your cousin. Yes I am a big guy. Very over weight. My little ole SV650 carried me just fine. Probally needed stiffer springs with someone as big as me and your cousin. But it did quiet well in stock form.

As a side note, the Yoshimura full race exhaust I had on there was awesome. Man I loved that bike.

Well he could get onto that bike, but he kinda looked funny while sitting on it. Another reason he wanted that bike was for its sheer speed. And that bike has plenty of it.

No one belives me when I tell them speed is over rated. Wheelies are much more fun than speed. But they hurt too, when you fall on your butt.

Anyway, the Busa is nice, but too high priced and too fast, so is the ZX-12R. Heck for that matter, all of the liter bikes are too fast.

But I know how it is to be young, and want the coolest, and fast bike out there. I of course was always one to take something slower and make it fast. My original plan for my last bike was the Suzuki Bandit 1200 with a whole lot of goodys from Holeshot performance. High pipe, headers, stage 2 jet kit, timing advancer, and a few body pieces. Very sharpe street fighter. I love a good looking street fighter. Maybe a piston kit, or N2O, but I doubt it. Probally didn't need to be any faster than it already was.

Yea his ZX-12R is waaaay more than he needs, but he loves speed. He's also plannin to buy an STI within the year. Right now he drives a 2001 Outback wagon with quite a few performance upgrades(Definately a sleeper). So as you see he loves fast things. He did the exhaust on the bike a month ago. He got a SS one since the titanium was too much $$$. I just wonder what other upgrades he plans on doing.

Oh and Smith his brother, who is bigger than him is thinkin bout the Busa and modding it. Again WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY too fast.

My friend is thinking of getting a motorcycle and wanted me to take the 2 day class with him to get the motorcycle liscense. I was thinking it might be fun/good experience to learn how to ride, but I don't plan on ever getting a motorcycle. Any reasons you guys can think of that I should/shouldn't take this ($150-200) course?

(sorry to thread jack a bit)

don't waste $ on taking a course that u won't use... instead goto this site <1 of many> & read about them online... then apply it on your shwinn bike for some cases to understand the theory...

http://www.ricebike.com & click on the link, "motorcycle tips & techniques"

side note: I had this screen name ever since the original 240sx.org mailing list was up since '97. The site says they copyrighted the name in 2003. Does that mean I can still use my screen name?

^^If you are not going to get a motorcycle then I would not waste my money on a class. But that is just me. It would probally make you a little more aware of motorcycles on the highway, which is a bennifit, to the motorcyclist out there.

But still wouldn't waste my money. And besides, if you took the course, then you would want to get a bike, and there you go. Which is probally why your friend wants you to take the class. Get the rush of riding in your system.

P.S. If you do decide to get a bike one day, TAKE THE COURSE!!!!!!!
