Why should you care what they think? You bought the car and you like it right? If everyone cared what everyone else thinks of their car we'd all be driving a Prius.aricbeemer wrote:http://www.motortrend.com/feat....html
I find it pathetic that they say its not attrative in the hatch form. The Honda Fit looks like a stinking clown car!!! And the Versa has a much better interior!
I agree with this guyRed Devil wrote:

To be honest, there are cars that look better than the V. The Versa is kind of bland and normal looking.
I agree too! I bought the car because I liked it, not anybody else.silverarrow27 wrote:

Lol. I think it is unappealing as well!!!MinisterofDOOM wrote:And I agree, the Fit is hideous. The 1st gen was ugly, and the new one is even worse.
MinisterofDOOM wrote:Motor Trend is a joke. I got a free subscription to it so I started reading it again...it's really horrible. It is quite literally a giant ad. The articles all look and read like ads. The photos are all cheesey and shiny and take up more pages than the articles. The have no taste in automobiles and just give whatever is newest all the awards. Hell, it was Motor Trend that gave the Ridgeline, a car, the Truck of the Year award in 2006. WTF? Yeah, don't take anything they say to heart.

the question is, would everyone be driving a prius? or the new honda insight? lolRed Devil wrote:

Oh, I definitely didn't intend any comment against you for reading the magazine. Just pointing out that magazines aren't always right.aricbeemer wrote:I
I agree about there magazines but just bought there magazines for some news. And I just like heariing positive reviews about the Versa thats all!
......we have had this discussion before...the idea being that certain car companies and cars are favored......accusations of magazine publications being paid off...........the one thing that nissan has to improve on the v is the front grille......make it look like a tiida grille and it's all good my feeling. i know there are bumper safety standards but the grille isn't the bumper last time i looked. they can do something with it..where is the tiida built in central and south america anyone know?MinisterofDOOM wrote:

Oppama, Japan and Aguascalientes, Mexico.grogman wrote:where is the tiida built in central and south america anyone know?
Yeah, I agree. The Prius costs significantly more and gets poor highway mileage due to it's abominable power to weight ratio (less than 100hp above 4000rpm and it weighs 3700lb) combined with the electric assist's uselessness at highway speeds...which means all that hybrid crapola is just dead weight. The Insight is simpler and has a more powerful gas engine so highway milage is probably superior to the Prius'...which is what really matters for most north american drivers. Plus with the price difference between the two...$4000 goes a long way toward gas, especially at 40+ mpg.Mile High Versa wrote:Prius < Insight

Eh, that hasn't stopped the goofy european pedestrian impact bumper standards from affecting the designs of world-market cars. Such a terrible idea...how about instead of making pedestrian impact safer...why not teach people not to WALK INTO TRAFFIC?! Such backward problem solving. I don't want to have anything to do with Japanese or European safety regulations. All 3 regions have their areas of idiocy; combine them all and you've got a fully completed trifecta of suck.Andrews Chalmers wrote:But getting back on topic... in re the ugly Versa bumper... we can thank the failure of the Japan/EU/US to get together and create a standard set of safety regulations.
The standards aren't the problem per se - it is when the original designers have to slap together a new bumper on a tight budget when they want to introduce an existing design in another jurisdiction.MinisterofDOOM wrote:

does tiida come in a sedan?...............1_Sleek_Versa wrote:"Sedan FTW"
Oh my god LOL. The Versa sedans have to be the plainest looking car since the 80's. I'm still wondering why they still sell/build them.
That sounds like something Red Devil would say, no offense. I still have my stock wheels for the winter!Bubs daddy wrote:I disagree. I think the Versa looks just fine stock and in my opinion, looks worse when lowered. Kind of silly, actually. Many of the aftermarket rims make the Versa look odd. Too spindly, narrow, an off color making it look overwhelming for the design of the car, creating too much attention to what should be a balanced look.
My $.02.
*sigh*VersaMG08 wrote:That sounds like something Red Devil would say, no offense. I still have my stock wheels for the winter!
Motor Trend isn't in the business of reviewing specific mods, its subjective opinion on the Versa's appearance is based on a comparison between vehicles with only OEM parts.VersaMG08 wrote:Motor Trend forgets that there is a modding crowd for the V. It looks a heck of a lot better with aftermarket rims, lowering springs, exhaust and tinted windows. They have no excuse giving the V a bad name when there are cars out there that are far worse as terms in quality.
I never said Motor Trend is reviewing mods on the Versa. I'm saying that the Versa looks better than it does stock. Their opinion is moot, I think the Versa looks fine the way it is stock or with aftermarket parts I just happen to like my V with mods.Andrews Chalmers wrote:

The latter part of your comment makes no sense at all. Why would Motor Trend need an excuse to give an unflattering subjective opinion on the appearance of a vehicle? It is what they do for a living.
And what does quality have to do with physical appearance being subjectively reviewed?
Should an automotive journalist suddenly say that a Toyota Land Cruiser looks better than a Aston Martin DB9 because the Land Crusier is more reliable?
We've already bought the car - enjoy it. Who cares if other people reviewed it the same way you did.
