They are obviously biased toward Nissan, for who knows what reason. Maybe, they don't like the way Nissan designs their vehicles on the outside or they're just too dang picky. I don't care what they have to say or offer. There are plenty of other magazines I can subscribe to besides them, if I choose to do so.

So, you say who cares if other people reviewed it the same way I did? Well, then I don't care how Motor Trend thinks of the appearance on the Versa.

Are you saying they're biased against Nissan? They loved the GT-R, 370Z and Altima. The thing is the Versa really isn't all that spectacular. It gets the job done the way it is supposed to.

No, I guarantee you if they had a review of a Versa and a Fit, they would probably pick the Fit over the Versa as being 'their' car.

The GT-R is awesome, saw one a couple weeks ago down in Colorado Springs at a car meet. Altima is good, my dad will get one pretty soon. Same with 370z, I want one.

Oh my god LOL. The Versa sedans have to be the plainest looking car since the 80's. I'm still wondering why they still sell/build them.
Perhaps because some people prefer them / don't want a hatch?

My $.02.
+1. The Versa's tall, slab sides make for an awkward appearance with many of the aftermarket rims I've seen on this forum. Kind of like a bear on a tricycle.

And why not? The cold hard truth is that the Fit is the more athletic car, period. It out handles the Versa and is (only slightly) faster. Whether that translates to a "pro" to the prospective buyer is up to that individual.

And how can you blame an auto critic, anyway? These guys don't have to live with the car, they just take it around a test track and let it rip - sportiness is one of the key factors in just about every car review because of that, even if it trumps practicality (which it often does to those guys). Imagine testing an LP460 and then having to do an article on economy hatches.

Yea because I guess a boxy flat car with long rectangular parabolic lensed lights looks a lot less plain than a Versa be it a sedan or hatch.

The articles all look and read like ads. The photos are all cheesey and shiny and take up more pages than the articles. The have no taste in automobiles and just give whatever is newest all the awards. Hell, it was Motor Trend that gave the Ridgeline, a car, the Truck of the Year award in 2006. WTF? Yeah, don't take anything they say to heart.

And I agree, the Fit is hideous. The 1st gen was ugly, and the new one is even worse.
I agree completely. They are not analytical whatsoever in their evaulations and comparisons, they are completely subjective and base all opinions on impressions and provide comments off the top of their heads. Their comments are not professional and anyone could do the job that their evaluators do. They also heavily favor horsepower and performance, which is one consideration but definately not my number one consideration. And regarding the Versa, I agree that it is so much better than the Fit, but another thing about Motor Trend they kiss Toyota and Honda's a**'s, they totally buy into the superiority complex of Toyota and Honda and blow it out of proportion, the bias is so obvious and I think they love them before they even get near one. Not to bag on Toyota or Honda, but they need to be evaluated fairly and unbiased, as I think quality is so close now between all manufacturers the old "Toyota is number 1" idea is not always guaranteed.
