Most power in the world?

Power is great, but at the last 25% of the rev range is not that usable...

I myself would like to see a happy medium...

I will be converting back to an auto once mine is tuned, but I have opted for a C4 3 speed out of an australian ford 302 windsor V8, I considered a powerglide..

Am I reading correctly that you are currently at or around 450whp? Or is that a goal. From my experiences, my last post should be a good starting point for you. Power is one thing, but most importantly to me is where the power is being made at. I've experimented with different turbochargers on CAs with various add-ons and I've formed my opinion as to what works and what is not in the CAs best interest. Again, tuning is key. If your engine management system is not up to par or your turbocharger humongously over-sized, then the CA is just another engine that will disappoint. The engine is already small, so why make it work extra hard trying twirl turbochargers that V8 engines struggle to twirl. 300whp on a CA is nothing to sneeze at. 400whp is something serious. 500whp is a thing of beauty on the CA. 600whp is a truly remarkable feat. 700+whp is insanely the shiz-nit and mad props to those that are getting it done.

I'd be extremely happy with 550whp and just happy with 450whp as of now. Old 4WD Audis and DSMs totally dominate here, especially hard to compete because most tracks are 1/8 and have just old asphalt, no glue, no preparation (I think you can see it from my sig). So got to have some power BTW, is there any automatic box that can be fitted to CA relatively easily/cheaply?

if the awd are dominating on asphalt, I doubt more power would help a rwd.I've seen RWD leave with, AND wipeout AWD under those very same type conditions... done with 5spd gearboxes also. Remember auto transmission will sap up your power too.Its all about seat time and how you set up your S13 (lotsa proven setups out there)

Want somethin to chew on ?.......*Full weight* street rwd corollas powered by their (built)original motors, get down to mid 6s in the 1/8th, without spray and shifting a 5spd celica gearbox. All that from an old 2 valve 1.8L!

I'm all for copying combinations to avoid wasting time/money. Travel the beaten path to predictable results. So many hi perf CA18s built already, no need to try reinvent the wheel. If secrets are withheld from one setup, no big deal. Look for patterns.

Tones' numbers are hella impressive, especially the torque curve! I believe it was an engine dyno tho, so not sure actual load would yield same turbo response/tq.

If chasing "big hp numbers", the formula is all the same, ain't it ?I'd go with an old VG30 sohc motor vs $$$$$ on a CA18, if building a monster

For a street car, stronger mid-upper rpm torque is my preference... as seen on some fast miata 1.8s running 50trim t3/t4 @25-30psi. What I've never seen disclosed is: how to get that broader torque curve and how some run hi boost on 'pump' gas.I guess that is what I'll have to figure out for myself... experimenting with cam/ timing, water/meth/alky injection, etc, once comfortable with tuning basics.

I meant that I would be happy if I had 450whp next season I don't know how many I got now, best what I got at 1/4 is in my sig (full-weight S13).So, what turbo you would recommend for 450-500whp, except GT35R (which already is not very streetable), 60-1 and HKS3037 (very rare?)?And what cams?What else, except tuning and NOS, would help broaden power range?Ahh, more questions Many say that HX40 will be better than GT35R in any area, what's your opinion?And is it worth making manifold with separated pulses, and getting twin-entry turbo?

I'm sorry, but what's the weight of these full-weight corollas? I like my S13 and my TransAm, and want them to go 10's, not just build ugly tin with engine
