My mechanic said before he could pull out of a gas station, the car had already shifted twice, and was in third gear. For the twin clutch system in the car, one clutch handles gears 1, 3, and 5, and the second clutch handles gears 2, 4, and 6. This car is a technological marvel.
You can thank VW for that "technological marvel." We have been using them in our cars for the last 4 yrs now. The germans love technology in thier cars.

Nissan will make it work better though and easier to use.

I had no idea that the Germans were first with that technology. I guess there is a lot we owe the Germans.

Maybe so. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only tech that is camped out on NICO while at work.

The Mercedes S-class has been the car to bring new technology to the mainstream. They were the first with anti-lock brakes, airbags, traction/stability control, and most other technology/safety innovations that slowly made it into the general automotive population.

Yeah I multi task between recent topics and active all day taking short breaks to fix things. I get the shakes when I'm away from it. Must conversate with other people, not in person. Stupid having a computer at my work station.

Yeah Merc has had some great products over the years and they have been a technological leader for a while but it takes a Japanese company to make things work practically.

awdjdmtalon and Stevethetech:

I am just as addicted as you guys on NICO. People at my workplace keep asking me what I am laughing about when starring at my computer, and where these friends of mine are. I just laugh and tell them that I hang out with them on the weekends.

Oh this day is already crashing and burning.

Someone used my uniform shirt to clean what appears to be the largest oil spill ever, people are driving cars in with flat tires. Awesome, I knew I got out of bed for this.

Know the feeling. We are short one service writer today. So the work load is non existant. At least my helper sold a t-belt/ water pump yesterday at 4:30. Taking my time on it. At least I will feel like I am doing something today.

I am now doing the same with a set of Brembo fronts pads and rotors and rear pads and resurface. Should be done by five roughly.

Psst. If you are going to post historical data, please, at least get it right. Porsche first came out with the PDK transmission in the 1989 959.

Was the PDK a twin wet clutch w. 2 input shafts? With 1,3,5 on one shaft and 2,4,6 on another.

Stupid Porsche. I don't have the patience to look it up now, but wasn't that used for some racing application a while ago. The technology isn't new but I don't see Nissan taking credit for inventing it. I have heard they 37 Cabrio will have a rear mounted trans too I think thats what they are going to start going with to achive better weight distribution.

Damn brake job just won't take five hours... oh what's this a tire to mount on a Chrysler Crossfire, oh happy day.

Tbelt job has been done for 2 hrs now. 4 state inspections later. Standing around w/ my thumb squarely parked in my rear, waiting for something to do.

Darn. Guess I'll just have to surf the NICO classified ads.
