I forgot my darn name for RX7club.com. I was trying to get on the other night, to get some info on a Turbo II, and forgot who I was.

Ain't life grand???

Guys, really, who cares about fads and what the "cool" thing to do with your car. Cause I sure as hell don't. I prefer SR because more power is just a turn of the dial away.Plus it's lighter(I'm kind of a weight freak about cars) than the KA.

Seriously, it shouldn't matter what the "phat" thing to do is. If people are gonna let what other people do influence them, wheres the fun in that? To each his own, to each his own, my friends

I don't get it either. people are always like "damn, they all got sr's, I gotta be different..." How can you be different? what other reliable motor is there that doesn't limit you to under 300hp unless you are rich that someone hasn't got already? if you want to be different and have the money, get a jun 2.2L stroker kit, crate motor, or (god forbid!) actually mod the engine past stock. It's such a potent motor, and so many people get the sr, leave it stock, and go around like "hey, I have an sr" and get waxed and clowned, giving it a bad name and all. it's a baddass motor, upgrade the turbo and fuel, run a concervative 330whp, and see who laughs. ever seen an rx-7 with 325 to the wheels? pure evil! (gave my buddy's integra type-s 10 cars and smoked him by 2nd gear) the same hp in our cars will give the same results, I've seen it. so don't be influenced by what everyone else is doing. have a backbone and **** everyone else.

who cares what motor you have as long as it performs how you want it to and you can fix it if it breaks

Exactly. I'm going KA-T or RB25, and I don't give a flying **** what anyone else says anymore. Actually its kinda funny cuz going RB would actually be the cheaper option for me...(take a look at the prices on KA24det.com)

well, i dont have the money to swap anything for my ka24de, although something will have to be done in the future, cause its definatley too slow for me. if i had a choice, id go for the sr20 just because theres so many aftermarket parts for it to tune it. i cant seem to find too much outthere for the ka like there is for the sr. also i have heard that the ka is not a good engine for tuning for various reasons that are beyond my comprehension including that the walls of the block are too thin.

I tell you folks I'm going to swap an sr20det into an ae86 what you think about that eh eh? haha it is quite tempting though. As far as swaps for my car if I swap i'll probly go ca. It's year specific for my car and is very buildable.

It's kind of strange to see this weird attitude towards the SR20.

Down here (Australia), all S13's either come with a CA18 or SR20 as standard. People have been modifying SR20's for a long time in S14's and the N14 Pulsar SSS. It's one of the most popular turbo fours to modify, along with the Subaru EJ20 and the Nissan FJ20. Don't pass it over just because other people do it. I thought Nissan S-car owners were more of a "we do it for ourselves" kinda bunch.

Not judging or anything.

If the CA/SR would have come in the 240 like it should have then this would not be an issue. I like to see the sr getting put where it belongs stock or with mods. The engine belongs in the 240 engine bay. Oh and the reason I know this Is I spent 6 years in Japan hitting the drift spots on a very regular basis and have seen the engines in action from stock to highly tuned. I did not choose it because when I was ready to swap the Rb25 was just sitting at Mckinney's ready to be installed and after allot of questions and answers I choose the Rb for my reasons. I did not do it to be differant. I did it for performance. If you want to be differant do what aries did or go extreme and put a Viper motor in.
