or you could do a custom FMIC using a short but very wide core and just route it below the bumper support.

I hope you guys realize why the bumper support is there, it doesnt prevent much damage, but it does slow down the car using the crumple zone technique in the event of a collision. The car manufacturers put it there for a reason and 240s lack safety equipment as it is...

But what you do to your car is up to you and what your willing to risk :)

so to recap. There is no way to keep the bumper support on a S13 with a FMIC. But you could make a s14 keep the bumper support with some cutting and trimming of the support.

If you wanted to take the time, you could do a custom top mount intercooler with a hoodscoop like the WRX. It would take a bit of work and you'd need to have a buldge in the hood for it but it could be done and you'd keep your bumper support.

how efficient are the upgraded side mounts, realistically speaking, with wat we do to the 240's?

you can keep the bumper support you just have to do a custom FMIC setup, all the kits make it so you have to remove/modify the bumper support.

No, read a little more carefully. You can keep it, but you have to modify it a bit. I have a Blitz LM and still have my support, but just the back wall is cut off, and I canted the bottom of the core inwards just a little on the brackets and shortened 30mm off the bottom cold pipe. Or you can put together a custom setup with a Spearco and make it to suit your needs, but that's alot of work.

Any reason why you picked the blitz over the others?

Because the Blitz comes with this cool Blitz logo stencil to spray onto the core! No, really I guess the main reasons are because Robert @ Projectsilvia gave me the hookup on it. The other kit I was considering was Greddy VSPL, but IMHO the Blitz was just a more thorough and complete kit. According to Phase 2, the VSPL often is missing basic parts, whereas the Blitz came with even nice little convenience parts like a tie down kit for a relocated/mini batter to make room for the coldpipe and even battery cable extenders. So far everything I have bought from Blitz has been an excellent product. I hate to admit it, but I have alot of Blitz parts on my car. Labelwhore =).
