I know the NICO community is mostly performance oriented, but I know I have seen some nice interior mods as well. So I thought it would be nice to have some pics posted up show casing the quality and skills of stuff members have done(or had done). Examples would be, reupholstering, coloring, gauge pods, etc.

I don't have a digi cam or anything so I will just say that I have recolored my interior from faded blue to "gloss" black.

Ok now its up to you guys and gals.

PS-A lil info on how you did what you did, I am sure, would be appreciated by everyone.

I swapped my craptastic S13 seats for S14 leathers...does that count? I homemade my own gauge pod too....I'll snap a picture if I get a chance.

Hudy, I know how you feel. When I get the body smoothed out and painted, I want to get a 2 tone (red/black) vinyl upholstery scheme. 89240sx, I think we'd all like to see that cupholder.Nathan, what kind of gauge pod did you make? I plan to do 3 digital gagues in the center vent and reroute the air through custom hosing to come out from down where the dash meets the hump.Maine, sorry but the pics aren't showing up.

It's just a black lexan panel that replaces the radio and the cup underneath it. Its super simple but holds 4 2 1/16 gauges (at the expense of the radio).

Shadow- is your interior leather? If so, what did you use to dye it?

I may be looking to dye my leather seats but I'm not sure how well that stuff you can buy works.

Stuff I was looking at was out of a JC Whitney mag

I did this to the interior of my Maxima...

Just removed all the trim and spraypainted with metallic silver and finished off with a clearcoat.

No, I just had the standard vinyl and cloth interior. I used a combination of dye from wal*mart and Krylon Fusion paint, as bad as it sounds it turned out pretty good actually. However, I would recommend getting a better brand dye, like VHT.

MrEous, that looks really good. I hope to do something similar to my trim.

I am curious to see what Maine has to post. Vengeance, thats an awesome example of sporty comfort.

im actually thinking about taking some type of upolstery class so i can redo my interior. i really want to reupolster my seats because the driver's side cloth is starting to wear. looking at my friend's brand new STi gave me some ideas like suede on the middle of the bottom and back parts then a different material(probably a cloth) on the side parts that provide support. i just need to do some more research to see what kind of work would be involved.

Scooty, that leather looks great, what did it involve to do the install yourself? I was looking at the pics of your car and I must say that is a great job you've done. My dad reminded me that vinyl doesn't breath well and reminded me of the extreme weather we have here in ohio, I decided to look into other materials for future reference. I know I don't want real leather, and I don't want something that will wrinkle(I hate wrinkles in auto upholstery, pet peve sorry). I'll probably have to go check with the local fabric stores and call the upholstery shop(only one in the phone book I can find near by). I thought about neoprene but just seat covers made of that are expensive, maybe fake leather or another smooth material. What would you guys recommend? And keep the posts coming, everyone has done great jobs on their interiors, time to show them off.

I've got custom scrapes put on my center consol by a freind, I also added some change into a center console compartment to add some noise. :D

For real though, im working on some gauge pods. I also got to make some holders for various electronic equipment like boost controler and turbo timer. My dash is going to look like a christmas tree at night but I don't care :pface

Being a product of the 80s, I think the more functioning lights and switches in the car, the better.

I shove my drinks into the little space on side of the door, needless to say my carpet is stained :(

I wanted to keep the monochromatic tone of black/white throughout the whole car. I didn't choose it for anybody else's likings but mine. Besides, it stays really cool here in South Florida.Quote »but still. you car is so hot man
Thanks ... okay, I'll forgive you.Quote »i'd like to talk to you about how you put those gauges in there
Not until you start liking my interior :PQuote »i already stole your turbo timer idea
:ylsuper

Thanks. Well, first you have to find a kit like the ones from Katzkin, unless you're areally good seamstress (sp?). You might want to opt for their installation video and tool kit, unless you plan onwinging it like I did (hogrings are a 'yach'). Plan on a full day (or two) for the install and many headaches ... or, you could alwayshave one of their many authorized shops install it for you.

Nice interior, OneFast. Where did u get your door inserts?

Loveless, have you tried taking the ashtray out and putting your drinks there? I used a universal adjustable cupholder and stuck it on the lid of my ash tray w/ 2 sided adhesive, it works great unless u corner hard enough with a large (or top heavy) drink that the lid opens and the cup tips(still working on that lol).

I checked out autoleathers.com that was in your post, but I don't know if I want real leather. I do know someone who sews for a living(sports jacket place), maybe I could take her my originals and make a set. hmmmmm
