I see BJ getting a suprise TKO or KO.

BJ can take a beating...Jens not so much.

i knew it! bj with the second round tapout! bj was totally dominating jens the whole time. that was a great fight. bj had a SICK armbar...it was perfectly setup. cant wait for bj to get a title shot again. btw...who is matt serra defending against?

No word yet that I know of... I think a rematch with GSP first, and if he survives that, a pummeling by Hughes or Thiago Alves, maybe. Has anyone else heard anything?

if he can actually get up to welterweight....

he looked in really good shape at 155.

I think if BJ gets to where he's got good cardio, no one at 155 or 170 will stop him.

I've never seen the guy rocked or in danger of getting subbed. The worst I've ever seen him was when Hughes had him pinned in a crucifix and hitting him in the face....that was odd...makes you think he really did mess up a rib and not just totally gas.

I don't see GSP taking the fight...not unless he fights really boring and cuts the ring for a quick couple of punches then backpeddles to avoid getting taken down or eating a few shots.

I don't know... GSP already beat Penn fairly easily once. But I agree that Serra isn't a real welterweight. Who do you think is going to win between Tito and Rashad?

im gonna have to go with rashad evans...rashad is really good...and i hate tito.

i really like gsp and i want him to get the belt back. i can see him comin back alot better. gsp didnt look that prepared...i dont know...he just didnt look that good comin into the fight. if you look at how gsp came in the ring against matt hughes the second time...you could tell that he was ready to kick some ***. and he totally dominated matt hughes that fight.

I missed the GSP/Serra fight due to deployment, but I'll still be here for 73. I'm all amped.

I dunno...GSP got schooled hard in the first round.

he won the next two due to Penn's inactivity more than anything...never had him in danger...just got a few takedowns...

a few takedowns? come on now...nobody can take down bj and everybody knows that. and gsp took bj down like it was breakfast. gsp can also take down matt hughes easily.

but anyway...what do you guys think about the sean sherk and hermes franca fight? since im from minnesota...and live right by his gym...i have to go with sean sherk. my brother met him at a seminar and said hes the coolest guy too.

http://www.infernofightclub.com/Sean%20Sherk.htm

there is the link to the pictures. my brother is the asian guy with the black/yellow sprawls and the grey playboy shirt. hes gettin a standing rear naked choke the first picture...lol. feel free to look around the website. the site is for the gym that my brother used to train at before we moved.

I was thinking that, but sometimes it seems like I argue with Mr1der just for poops and grins, so I kept it to myself.
kOOukiCrisp wrote:but anyway...what do you guys think about the sean sherk and hermes franca fight?
I don't know... Sherk is a beast, but Franca is very hungry and he's good everywhere. Sherk says all the guys he trains with are 200+ pounders, so he shouldn't have much trouble dealing with Franca's punching power and takedown strength. I'm usually very reluctant to go either way for sure on a fight, but I'd put a small sum of money on Sherk to pull either a late 4th round stoppage or a unanimous decision. Don't ask for my reasoning.

I wanna see GSP and an in shape Penn go.

let's see if he'll actually stick with going for

did GSP get a takedown in the first round at all?

I can't honestly remember...I only saw the fight once.

GSP vs Koschek should be thoroughly boring. I see the fight being a lot of Kos getting a good clean takedown then laying there head pinned to chest throwing in short punches to the head and body.

Sherk and Franca though...I dunno....I see Franca standing a good chance.

if you ask me...the best fighter in the division right now is Joe Daddy. He'd be the guy I'd look for to be a surprise contender and actually take it from anyone in the division.

Huerta's probably gonna get the next crack at the LW belt though.

so Who watched UFC 73?

the card was awesome, but sadly, the fights weren't terribly exciting. It really failed to meet the Hype.

I couldn't believe that Herring (a) didn't finish the fight in the first round when he hod Nog on the ground hurt, (b) didn't finish the fight in the beginning of the second round while Nog was still wobbly, and (c) lost the f@%#ing fight. I like Nog, but that looked like a work to me.

I think Rashad will probably be able to beat Tito of they fight again. I got the feeling that despite what he said, he was still a little in awe that he was in the ring with Tito Ortiz.

I thought Sherk would've been able to stop Franca by the late 4th round, but then I never expected him to take all of those knees on the way in, either.

i wish i wouldnt have missed it! i wanna see sherks fight. i knew it would be a close one...but i knew sherk would come through with the win. im surprised sherk didnt get owned on the ground by franca...or did he? do you know where i can watch it?

There should be replays for a week or two. And to answer your other question, no. Sherk did whatever he wanted as far as positions on the ground. Not sure why he couldn't really capitalize...

nah...I don't think it was a work at all.

I think Herring was just afraid to go into Nog's guard willingly. His striking only seems to get worse and worse.

actually...here's a gif of that kick Nog took.

he was still there....rocked, but still there....Heath needs to take lessons from Anderson Silva on finishing an opponent on the ground.

I just know that Herring has yet to impress me. The only really good thing I've ever seen him do is knock out the dude that kissed him at the staredown. I know he beat Imes, but I think I could beat Imes on a good day.. .

I know Sherk is appealing the ruling and Franca admitted to doping, but I haven't been on Sherdog lately. Have you heard anything on this recently?

NAGA is where I met Serra a couple years ago, but it was in Jersey City. I got submitted there by Pete Sell's brother. He was sandbagging, though; competing in the 30-39 age group and I think he was only like 27 at the time.
