So, my problem is hard to figure out and im going broke trying to find it. Mostly the car does it a operating temps. Its missing or cutting spark when driving its random and that makes it harder to figure out.

replaced:Ignition Control ModuleDistributor CapRotor ButtonPlugsPlug wiresFuel FilterI re-grounded the stock ground from the batteryI also looked at the coil and noticed the ground was covered in i guess acid? so i got cleaner for it, and cleaned it, then added an extra ground.

here is a small video of me driving notice i revd the engine and it didn't do it but sometimes it will.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bf-lC7-_co

i have some on my cell phone from today while car was in park, ill try to get them converted and uploaded.

So, any ideas for what may be causing this?

P.S. the car is a 1992 Auto Hatch.

My thoughts:

Fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump.

I would check for ECU codes.

From the video it almost seems like the TCU may be causing a miss shift. Has the transmission been rebuilt? What does the fluid look/smell like?

Nah, that was the seatbelt light. I saw that to and checked my gauge cluster and then watched the video twice more to make sure it was the same light.

Ok, so iv yet to find a vac leak, and i ordered a new pump today itll be here around lunch. I also grabbed a MSD Blaster 2 Coil to replace the coil, also the resistor.

reason i did this is the OEM replacement coil is 160$ i was like ROFL, MSD FTW. 39$ for coil and 6$ for resistor plus better effects im hoping.

Next to be replaced if the pump and coil dont work is the fuel pressure regulator. Then after that ill look more into the ECU, and Distributor.

Also what plug wires you guys recommend? DO NOT GET Magstars( 3 sets bad i sad f**k em')

and can someone help me with the wiring diagram for the coil i found the file but its something i cant use anyone have the PDF of it?

oh and yes that was the seat belt light, i use the shoulder belt not the lap belt, eh but i use to not even wear one.

Also the ECU code gave a code 21 which is Ignition Control Module, which is replaced, had the machanic look at it after it started doing this.

Sorry about spacing all that out but i type odd

A little info that may or may not help you-

The EGR ports are known to clog up on our cars. Sometimes only one or more get completely clogged. If only 2 or 3 clog, then all the EGR gasses get pumped into one cylinder causing a misfire. Since the EGR only works intermittently under partial load or cruising, this may be the cause of your random rough running.

Other than opening up the manifold to visually inspect the ports, you can disconnect the EGR. This may set off your MIL, but if the problem goes away, you know what the problem is

I will check that, thanks for the info MIL thats the check engine light right? But being if this is the cause of the problem, i shall remove this useless ****, its a 92 so no hooking it up to anything, just visual stuff. But... being im planing on heading to SC which doesn't have emissions then need not worry :D

my car was doing the EXACT same thing. turns out since I didn't have the fan shroud yet the fan ate up the bottom of the motor harness that goes to the MAF sensor and distribuitor, so look for bad/cut wires in that area.
