I need some pointers on where to go now! I have a 91 with the stock ka24de and can’t seem to get it running properly! It’s having a misfire after the engine is warm and rpm’s settles down! Brand new plugs gapped at the recommendation of the engine but it has an msd 2 coil and magnacore r-100 wires plus a higher amp battery than the original recommended one !! I don’t know if anything of those things would have something to do with the problem ! A couple of order things ! The coil has no resistor added to it , no egr, the only thing i have not changed or check it’s the o2 sensor. The injections are good change the bad one 2 days ago

I'm suspecting a bad coil.

Check for spark at each plug.

Also, do you have a CEL? If so, an OBD scanner will save you lots of head-scratching and guesswork.

When does it misfire? At idle? Cruise? Wide open throttle?

When you say knocking, is it all the time, and is I rhythmic? Or only randomly under load?

It does when the rpm, settles down after cranking it up ! Before it’s drove! And on open throttle! After it’s gets drove around a few blocks or a good distance it doesn’t do it again till it’s parked cool completely out !

OK, earlier you said it happens when warm, but now you say it's only when engine is cool.

Let's get a scanner on it. Is the check engine light on?

So how can i tell if the coil is bad? It’s any specific voltage that should be putting out??

I feel like we're not communicating very well.

Is the check engine light on?

Have you put a scanner on it yet?

Ok i follow the suspicion of being the coil like you guys said so i picked up a new one and problem solved!!! And yes the check engine is on but it comes out as the egr but since i have an egr delete kit on it i didn’t put much attention to it since i know there’s no egr on the car !!
