I've got quite a bit more into my car (althought I had to admit that) and have no issue with a FMIC or it's response.

REmember size and locations makes absolutly ZERO differnece in regard to 'response' or spool speed...that's all down to compressor and cooler efficiency.

On top of that, has anyone logged before and after between the two setups?

TO me it limits usefull engine bay room more than anything. It also (I'll put cash on this) seems to provide no real world differnece other than to say 'hi i'm different'...which does not impress me.

Call me hater, I know what works.

Some people are doing it as a fad, yes, but the true appeal is to people who actually drive on the track and do not want do damage FMIC piping on cones or tires used as clipping points or track markers. Oh, and its super sleeper status
I've been doing multiple days a year, for 4 years now. I've never once had an issue (even with putting 2 or 4 off) with my FMIC or attracting any sort of issue. In fact I've even carried a cone around track (obviously by accidcent) with no issue....I also drive the car on the street as often as possible, and have never been worried...in fact I've helped put so many FMIC's on cars, and have friends who have don eit, that I've lost track...and not a single one has had an issue with them.

Sleeer status? Maybe...I don't street race or hard park so I wouldn't be looking for that sort of street cred as it is.

Until someone can say "Hey I logged spool times" or can show me a difference in IAT going this way, It's simply the 'FFF Craze' more than anything. I personally could not deal with having it all crammed in there...the key to a car (IMO) is ease of accessibility...break a part on track, you need it fixed asap...so why hide and put things in hard to reach areas?

As above, I just don't see the big point other than to be different. Different <> fast, so it's of no interest to me.

well where its at isnt hard to install or get to, and the tubes run right next to the radiator hoses. still have room for electric fans, dont have to do a battery relocation, less cutting on the car, double the width of any fmic ive ever seen, i mean its a matter of opinion but at the time it was the best way to go for me. i had an hks fmic and ditched it once i saw this intercooler in person... track use goes im not gonna be going fast enough force air through a fmic so with where this one is at the cooling fans will take care of that. also since i do not have a/c it was the perfect place to mount it.

Some, if not most of the v mount intercooler setups that I've seen arn't all that great. They're usually placed really high up and at steep angles to accommodate for room but really they're developing a longer laminar flow condition on the fins than if they were front mount. Although fins help tremendously with heat transfer, you really shouldn't have to upgrade until you get to like T3 and up type of turbo's

Also that PBM mid mount thing is very restrictive and imo a waste of money. Way to reduce convention transfer PBM tsk tsk

I'll post some pics tomorow when I take it to get wired, it's less restrictive than you think, it's not at an angle either, sits in front of the radiator where the a/c parts were

How in the world do you come to the conclusion that this will bring you into boost faster?

Restrictive is hardly a fair term to use don't you think? If that core is garbage (which I bet it is for the cost) it's not worth any of the reduced pipe gains.
