HAIL TO ZEH PARKWAY DRIIIVVEEE!!!!

Yea, I didn't know who they were either. Looked it up, it's a metalcore band.Mr1der wrote:who?
THIS. it's annoying and stupid semantics.Mr1der wrote:<---DOES mind all the goddamn subgenres of any genre of music and all the goddamn music nazis going on about what's not metal or hip hop or country or indy or bluegrass.
No, not my thing. I agree at lets leave it at that. The dusty road of various brands of metal vs each other leads to nothing good.RobPaulson wrote:LOL not ur thing? thats cool. lets not turn this into a debate about the wording metal/metalcore please... <where the phuk is my eyeroll emote>
that band makes me laugh. ha. i personally need something a bit more intense to work out to. RATM is about as 'light' as it can get for that.Mr1der wrote:<----going back to listening to Edguy
hell ya dude, i'm seriously considering getting tickets somehow...ScrapMetal wrote:I love Parkway Drive, been into them since around 2007 when I found their album "Killing With A Smile" and decided to give them a try. They're one of the main reasons I'm going to the Warp Tour this year.
Respectfully disagree, not many people can do what he does as a vocalist. I find it rather impressive, while at the same time, I am totally into other forms of rock/metal with absolutely zero screaming. (chris cornell for example, as much of a curse he is to each band he touches... his voice is epic) It's all different skill sets in my eyes, it all takes a lot of talent and hard work to be able to sing either style, I can appreciate them for what they are, how much work they put into the sound, and the overall effect of the music. I am honestly drawn towards bands that I can hear the intensity and emotion in the music, vocalists/instrumentalists who are just really into what they're doing because they really LOVE the music.AZhitman wrote:Musicians rock, vocalist blows.
Seriously, is there a rule that says "it's not metal if it has great vocals"?
I listen to this while lifting (on endless repeat):RobPaulson wrote:this type of harder stuff i like to listen to when i'm lifting
It's all preference really. I'm more of a fan of bands that play more technical metal, not the same ol' generic bland riffs. I'm not much of a fan of powermetal bands unless it's Stratovarius or Sonata Arctica, most of the rest sound like cookie cutter bands(bands like Edguy make me ROFL). I do listen to metalcore but only bands that stand out from the large quantity of crappy bands that are in this genre, Parkway Drive is one of the few stand out metalcore bands.Mr1der wrote:real metal has great vocals.
I know I've been caught listening to that song on more than once occasionAppleBonker wrote:I listen to this while lifting (on endless repeat):RobPaulson wrote:this type of harder stuff i like to listen to when i'm lifting

not my cup of tea, but we have the same view of the definition of 'metal'. def.ScrapMetal wrote: This is "real" metal to me, but I know that to most of you guys this is probably just noise.
