I'm about to buy some coilovers for my S13 Hatch and I'm torn between Megan Racing Street or Stance GR+. I'm leaning towards Megan but for couple hundred more I can get Stance which looks more durable and looks better. What do you guys think? Thanks.

i'd say Megans too...

what are you using them for, just the street? I wouldn't waste money on high end coilovers that will never see track time.

it seriously doesnt matter... and if you want to pay 200-300 dollars more because they "look better" whatever that means, go for it. both are good, both will not dissapoint you. i went with megans only because why pay 2-300 bucks more for the same thing, and i have no complaints... your call

They are NOT the same thing. Stance is much better, however, it sounds like xtrmnop does not need the extra durability and performance of the Stance coilovers so I am going to say for him to go with Megan.

well thats great, stance is much better, whatever.... its how YOU perceive them to be. i've driven on both and they are extremely similar. and i know people with stances and megans... both durable, nothing has gone wrong with either. so IN MY OPINION, neither are better than another. But thats just me, and what do i know...

I've just heard bad things from people about Megan Racing products period, but that's from a bias source that doesn't have much experience with the brand so... ya haha.

I kno a lot of people that have megan coilovers, and they all have good things to say. A lot of people rip on them b.c they;re "cheap", taiwanese made coilovers, but the quality is actually pretty good

its not how u perceive something to be when it comes to performance parts. there are ways to measure which one is better w/ raw data and cold hard facts. just because u PERCEIVE a stock ka to be fast doesnt mean the sr isnt better. ps- where in pa are u

I have Megan street coilovers and I'm extremely happy with them, and have never had a problem with them. I know there not the most baller, jdm tyte coilover made but there perfect for me. I was under the impression that stance were the better made/performing coilovers but these threads have me thinking different.

not all stance is like that. from what i've heard there last batch was pretty shoddy and had some issues. when they were lesser know w/ less demand they were great quality. since they have gotten more publicity they have cut some corners to meet w/ the demand. hopefully they will correct this problem

I think they would still be a good bet, as long as they fixed the issues they have with them now. Before this I havn't heard anything bad about stance coilovers either.

megan streets are the same as apexi exv dampers , they are made by the same overseas company and are the same product. i have megans and am an avad drifter and have not had one problem to date, i love them and wish i would have bought them long ago before i wasted money on a set of tein he's a few years back. buy them set them up ( correctly ) and you will love them

^ dude search. there is proof that the "megans are the same as apexi" argument is not fact at all. do some searching and you'll find it. and imo the teins are awesome, the megans are ok but the tein type he's are far better than megan

i agree. sorry. not completely true. cause this was being debated when megan first released their coilovers. and a call to apexi confirmed that megan uses their designs for apexi coilovers. so in essence they are knockoffs. apexi uses better materials and has better springs. but the apexi are still overpriced imo. i myself run k sports and they are decent. but i plan on upgrading to stance, silk road, or jic magic. but will most likely go with either stance or jic magic as i know more people who swear by them.

have you even tried k sports white comet? the only thing thats bad about them are the low speed dampening rate. they are decent for the price i bought them for and they did well for me during several autocross and two DD's.

mrgreeneyes has them in his car (not for long) and after a few months one of the fronts blew and teh other one is on its way out. sure there are some bad roads around here but its not like he dukes of hazard jumps off of stuff. no matter how bad teh roads they should have lasted longer than they did w/o blowing
