OK, so I've had my Megan Racing Street coils for a while now and love'em, but every so often when i go over a larger bump I seem to get a little knocking sound coming from the rear. Only other susp mods are SPL Aluminum subframe collars and Tanabe strut tower bars (front and rear).

Checked out the coils, don't look to be blown, nor do they ride any differently, my guess would be they are hitting the RUCAs? any clue? does it moreso on driver side than pass side.

????

try tightening the top nut on the one that is making noise....this may help.. but some of the cheaper coilovers the srping moves around inside the perch....some are noisy....

my bet is that the rear one that is making noise needs to be tightened down a little...

You are probably just bottoming them out. Its not uncommon to bounce off the bump stops every once in a while with short bodied dampers. Crank your dampening to stiff for a few days and see if it goes away.

I had a terrible knocking from a rear coilover when the top nut came really loose. Also check to make sure it's bolted to the car tightly. Basically check for anything possible being loose.

Had the same problem the top ring underneath the spring needed to be tightened 1 turn, both fronts.

Thanks guys, I will be sure to do what you guys said to do. I have a feeling it might be the suggestion above. So as long as it isn't raining tomorrow I will be attempting to tighten and check those things out. Thanks.

OK, so got the car up in the air to check things out, finally didn't get a day without rain. Checked everything on the coils and it was fine, but i saw that the exhaust bracket was broken and the knocking sound is being caused by the extra movement in the muffler knocking on the frame.

Just an Update

I like them a lot, a little bouncy, as everyone would say but i dont mind it. I have the one click to aggressive and i like them. Haven't really tried any of the other setting but I like where I have them. Had them for almost a year now and, knock on wood, no problems.

What kind of condition are your subframe bushings in?

subframe bushings arent in the best of conditions, but i have the SPL Aluminum collars on there so they're helping a bit.
