oh, common' now AZhitman! i am sure you've had your fair share of traffic violations! hell, I put in my 90 days of not having a license and I got it back, fair and square. I broke the rules, then I played by the rules, payed by the rules and now I have my license again. Not to mention, I have a lil over 500,000 miles under my belt already and I've only been in 3 traffic accidents that were my fault, one of them in ice. thats not too shabby, is it? plus countless others I have avoided, both would have been my fault and not my fault. the vast majority of which would NOT have been my fault. Its amazing how many people dont see you when you have a lit pizza sign on the roof of your car.

Point is: I have made my mistakes, I have learned from them. when your on the road, you have to drive as if everyone else s an idiot and doesn't know where they are going. that way, you'll always err on the side of caution! Drive like you care!

I was 100% in your corner until you mentioned ONLY 3 accidents that were your fault... That's actually a lot for someone your age.

I have NEVER been in an at-fault accident in over a million miles and 18 years of driving. Not bragging, just sharing.

Glad you've learned your lessons - Be careful out there.

3 at fault accidents in 8 years with fargo winters? got my license when I was 15, and I'm 23 now. thats not that bad. plus, all of them were under $1000 and did not go on my permanent record. ugh, you should see the streets here every winter. first ice storm, everyone has to learn how to drive all over again. its hell on cars and hell on people.

thats why I am moving to sunny AZ at the end of september. I am thinking glendale. then you can deal with me! lol! cant decide whether to bring the CA19DET 240sx or my 240Z with the soon to be 3.0L longrod stroker...... either way, I had better get the cooling systems up to snuff.

Let me know when you get ready to head this way - I'll hook you up with some info (if you don't already have a hookup here in town).

Every post hitman makes, I like more.

Here's the truth:

Young people are targeted by police officers.

Yes, that's discrimination. No, there's nothing you can do about it. Want to know why? Because young people speed, and young people get into accidents.

If you have a big wing and clear tails? You're probably going to get pulled over doing 5 over. I always thought this was common knowledge, but I guess it's not.

One of the guys I work with has a 97 Supra. And he drives it slow. "There's just no point in driving fast, I know I'm going to get a ticket if I do, and when I do, it's gonna be a big one." And he's right.

I drive a 240, and it's pretty quick. I drive it slow. When 55 pops up on my windshield (Shexy coupe, baby) I keep it there. I come to a full complete stop at stopsigns, and I try to keep as low profile as possible.

I was in 1 accident 5 years ago. Not my fault, per se, but it could have been avoided. Deer in the road, going too fast to miss, but under the speed limit. Patch of ice, understeered into a culvert and onto a bank. Unbuckled my seatbelt, fell to the roof.

I think my post had a point.

Oh yeah. <3 the Hitman.

(Sorry, it's late. Worked all day. Ug.)

Damn some of you guys seem to be getting reimed. I got one ticket im 19 have some miles under me and have only gotten one ticket (my fault i knew it didnt think the car was a chp cause it was doin 75 in a 55) i knew i was wrong for doing 80 (he said 82) on the highway i was honest with the cop he decided to let me off with a 75 in a 55 ( $158 and 1point) i didnt do traffic school because with knowing i have a point already i drive slower and more cautiouse then i did before because of it. being 17 and having 12 pts already? god damn find a off road or a slow sicluded way home if you got the earge to let your lead foot loose, and do it safley, i speed too i have no radar since i got pulled over for registration last year and the cop yanked it saying it was illegal. (cop couldnt see sticker)

well good luck hope you dont loose your license and hope you avoid the cops more often. if you really want to piss them off have your passanger video taping them pulling you over... makes them doubt themselves if they didnt get you on radar and if they arnt sure you completely stopped at the stop sign.

why would he do this? Was it a jammer? Radar detectors are only illegal in virginia, right?

yup, cops not liking youn'uns is something I've learned to live with. thankfully there is a bunch of rice that has seemed to pop up in local parking lots with standing water. These are the kind of people that keeps WingsWest and APC in business. the cops like them. especially when they do burnouts leaving parkinglots. Ah, the fun never stops!

one thing I have leared tho is stealth. If your gonna drive fast, don't drive a 1983 Datsun 280ZX! or a 1989 240sx coupe, or a 1988 200sx with the word turbo plastered all over the rocker panels, or a blaze red 1988 Pulsar twincam SE, or a 1996 Suzuki RF900RT with a custom paint job an a muffler shell. Yup, I stick to my good ole 1993 nissan sentra SE-R or my 1988 Saab 900 Turbo. haven't been pulled in either car, Odd.

One thing I am looking forward to is a Track Day. there is a track about 200 miles from here. $75 all day long, nice road coarse too. strteet racing s only so much fun, especially when you have to constantly check your rear view mirrior and look out for pedestrians.

for about 8 months or so cops were yanking them in my area saying they were illegal they were wrong but nothin i could do and getting it back isnt worth the hassle of tracking down the cop and taking him to court. I just drive slower at night now (harder for me to see if its a cop in front or behind me at night) and ive only been pulled over once since i havent had it.

Officers do not have a quota. My father was mayor for 1 year, on town council for 7, and police commissioner (sp?) for 2 years. He received full police statistics and reports each week, and again at the end of the month.

Some towns do perform excessive traffic stops, and by me these are the towns that are upper class/low crime.

I deliver pizzas in a rich town, my car is lowered past legal limit, my exhaust is over legal limit, and I have no front plate. In a town that is notorious for pulling people over, I don't get bothered...you know why? I drive properly. There is no one to blame but yourself. If you obey traffic laws, you won't receive points bearing tickets (accidents aside).

Kids are not targeted, bad drivers are.
