Something si wrong when you get more help on an infiniti forum about a BMW than you do on a BMW forum.

Thanks man.

The 7 series is a fun car to drive, but I don't think I'd want to own one, particularly at this stage of my life. People that complain about how expensive the Q is to maintain should try a recent 7 series.

Although, I'd definitely make the sacrifice for an M5...

Dude! M5 or M6 I will sell my sould to the devil to own one from Germany only (NO US bulls..t). I've drive e34 M5 (friend of mine owned it when it was new). I'll tell ya dream-machine. However, in US it is "upscale" wehicle with "upscale" prices. Did you know that you could get E32 7 series Bimmer with stick shift (88-94) I've driven them!Even if I could afford M5/6 I wouldn't buy one. I would by a UNIMOG U500 to show them F250 with sky-high lift kits and big tires who's the boss on the road Cheers!

Unfortunately NO. V12 is a HD engine of all gas engines. Crank shaft almost as strong as a diesel one. valvetrain is very slick with oil sprinklers for rockers and cam. Overal V12 is very strong motor. (i had a veb site, lost it) where guy overhauled v12 with wy to many miles on it and bottom end was as good as new even thoug sludge and grime was beyond belief. Quite amazing engineering!Cheers!

The Q would have it's hands full with a 740 Period. I will have one.

I had a fun run with an E38 750 a month or two ago. Little quicker off the line, but it evens out nicely by about 50mph or so.

Not unless they have the 4.4 V8, then it just takes a little longer to get by.

4.4 540i can be another story since it is a smaller car and is available with 6MT in the Sport model.

I ran my dad out on the freeway. I was in my Very healthy running 93 Q and he was in his 99 740IL. We both mashed on it and I was with him from 65-90ish. Then he started to pull.

Like I said, the Q will have it's hands full. Those 740's move out.

its all about the gearing. Those cars weigh like 4300lbs, but have 5 speeds..... makes all the difference in the world...

I spend 95% of my time at the speed limit +10-15mph at the most, usually less. If I want to go fast, I'll get on my motorcycle, but that's just me.
