If you cant figure out how to do the swap, I definitely would not recommend going KA-T.

Do some research.

Why not will it be that bad going KA-T for a drifting engine?

Don't sweat it OP. Not everyone's going to learn proper NICO etiquette right away. This info is easily found if you use the search button. SR swaps are easy if you do your research.

Both the swap, and the KA-T register near each other on the difficulty scale, if you cant do the one, Id put money on the fact that you will have just as much trouble as the other.

If your plan is to drift, learn to drive first, worry about power later. Stick with the stock motor, so that when you break it practicing its cheaper and easier to fix. Once you've actually aquired some decent skills, then start to add power.

In the racing circle of life, you always feed the monkey behind the wheel before the hamster under the hood.

What did I hit a nerve with your favorite movie?

D-Mac you need to have your stuff together when you get to doing this I am about 2 grand over budget now and I am still bleeding money into this project. A FMIC, rad fans, wiring problems, all kinds of crap can happen-- If I had known that a series 2 sr20det wiring into a 96 240 se would have been such a nightmare then I would probably just have bought a red top or standard black top. This project is not as easy as say a honda vtec motor swap.

No I think your post was completely unnecessary, and lacking any actual help. Had you posted any sort of reasoning behind your reckless flaming it would have been different. With only 50 posts, its a little early for you to be flaming like that. Senseless posts like yours are almost, if not more annoying then stupid noobish questions.

well then since you seem to know so much about this engine then please explain to me why they did not put abs and cruise in the jdm silvias but they did in usdm ka powered 240s and why would Nissan completely make the wiring different on both models -- it almost appears that they are wired opposite of one another. They must have completely done things different in between models....

Ive no idea why the JDM cars did not come with ABS or cruise, thought I would guess it would have something to do with the nature of the Japanese people, its just how they roll. As for the 240SX getting those features, its a testament to American laziness, Nissan didn't think anyone would buy the 240SX if it didn't at least have the option of those things.

As for the wiring, you have to remember that the JDM cars are right hand drive, so essentially the wiring is backwards, not to mention there are numerous differences between the engines, necessitating differences in wiring.
