sorry if this has been covered, i tried some searching but nothing really came up useful to me

i want to get wheels that are 16x8 +15mm offset, what's the max tire size i can put on them? can i fit 255/50's? and who sells 16x9 wheels?

-edit-i'm not worried about rubbing, i plan on going with fender flares anyway.

-edit again-i'd also like some pics if anyone has 255's on 16" rims on their s13

pretty much everywhere you go the widest youll find is 245/45/16, which works on 16x9 nicely

with 16x8 id say youre better off with 225/50, so try to find some 16x9s if you want wider wheels

i went on edgeracing.com and one of their tires listed 255/50/16 says it will fit anything from a width of 6.5 to 10, http://edgeracing.com/tire/759/

is this true...?

the rear rims on my s14 are 9.5 inches and slightly rum the strut but not the quarter panel at all, not exactly sure of offset, but I think its slightly on the negative side to prevent that wheel rub on the Q.P

I used 235´s on my old car, 8" rims and the tires were perfect. Wider tires would look stupid.

On the other hand, we compared a 215 Falken to a 215 BFG a few years ago and the BFG were 1.5 cm wider when measured, both over the pattern and total mounted on rim.Never trust tire sizes!

Diamond Racing wheels makes wheels from 10" to 16" in pretty much any width and offset you want. They're cheap too the only downside is their steel wheels, so they'll be heavy. Check them out http://www.diamondracingwheels.com

depends on the tire like everyone has said, but a 225 to a 245 is fine. 245 is the correct fitment for a 8" wheel. 225 is a little stretched, 205's are jdm drifter tyte stretched.

i know that this thread is dead but i had to clearify, 215s are fine on 8 inch wide wheels i have 17x8 and i run 215s all the way round no stretch at all so unless you run 215 (which arent even stretched) then dont say anything...... kthx if you need me to show you thats cool with me joseph or youve prolly already bout your wheels in 2 months of the first post.. i was just looking for a particular thread of yours and came across this one, but w/e lol.

I wouldn't consider a 205 on an 8 "JDM dorifto tyte yo", but it is a little bit of a stretch...

Here's a 205/50r16 on a 16x8+15

Here they are on the car...

If those tires were a lower aspect ratio than 50, the 205s would look jdm dorifto tyte yo.

225 is correct on an 8, though with a high performance tire you could run a 235, maybe a 245 on the rear, but i wouldnt push it more than that unless youre only interested in straight line
