I just saw a special on the Autobahn. The guy took a film crew on a 213 mph trip down the road in a RUF Porsche. This was at night because apparently, during the day, it suffers from congestion and has speed limits.Amer-GTC wrote:Thank you man.
We in Europe have German AUTO BAN, No speed limit.
I heard of a guy who was "comfortable” playing Russian roulette. After he blew his brains out it was no longer so.330badboyg37 wrote:if u you feel comfortable in it why not! hahah thats moving though! any insight on the S mode when you shift left into the tiptronic i noticed it hauls *** in that mode?

Be careful next time. the CHP is more tricky now. They time the time it takes you between two prominent landmarks from a mile or two behind you. Then they take that time and compare it to the time driving the speed limit. Then they move in for the kill. They don't bother trying to get in your blindspot anymore. Watch your 6 very carefully. Tickets of 100+ get you a free stay in the can.ajkeence99 wrote:Well I had my '01 Eclipse GT up to 155 on the 8 between San Diego and Phoenix, I don't know how many of you have been on that highway but as you come out of the mountains you have some very long, flat, straight stretches. It was quite the rush let me tell you. I can't wait to take my G37 out there when I get back from Iraq and pick it up from the dealer.
Wow, thats very ingenious of them. To hold up at all they would have to have an actual number on a gun though wouldn't they? I would think any traffic lawyer worth his salt would be able to talk someone out of that.rn79870 wrote:

Thanks for serving (USMC I assume).
Believe me, I understand the dangers associated with the action It not something I do on a regular basis by any means I can assure you. While I do like to press the envelope while driving that was the first time I had driven at that speed, although I have spent quite a bit of time above the 100mph mark in my now 11 year driving career. That said, you only live once and speed is definitely one of my passionsmranderson wrote:
Is that a new revision to the law? I would love to see the specific California vehical code for that. Last I knew it was an automatic dismissal of a speeding citation in California if you could prove that law enforcement used a "timing device"... ie a standard clock, stopwatch etc. In other words, they either have to use a calibrated speed measuring device such as radar, or trail you a given distance and determine your speed based on their speed calibrated speedometer. At least that's the way the law read a few years ago. I'll be the first to conceed it could have changed though.
In any event, 150something out on that desolate stretch of land for any sustained period of time is asking for it... if not the ticket, bigger trouble, like the kind that comes with a blow-out and loss of control. You're coming home from Iraq safe, no use in dying here for a quick thrill.
