Those both look nice, but they also look like they'd be prone ending up crammed full of gunk and dirt.

Mine's been nicked by a grinding wheel, been through numerous restoration projects, and has been coated in all manner of nastiness...

The only thing that's happened to mine is the black has faded to a cool, shiny, glossy, charcoal-colored metal. I actually like it better now.

The tungsten ring is WAY heavier than gold, so that takes some getting used to - but like WD said, I'd feel way outta wack without mine on.

LBC, that's some great info - thanks a ton for all that! :)

I went with Titanium, but wish I had done Tungsten. The Titanium is very stiff (no way you can bend it) but it has lots of scratches and nicks in it. I think it was $100 7 years ago.

When you guys are buying non precious metal rings, you need to remember that the metal is DIRT CHEAP, titanium especially because a ring weighs close to nothing. Buy online, or atleast LOOK online before you go into a store....

To some extent buying these rings at a jewelry store is like buying a car charger at bestbuy.... They sell the same thing online, but for that convenience of having them stock the item that rarely gets sold, you pay a hefty premium, like HDMI cables or LCD wall mounts compared to the internet.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Titanium-Weddin ... 1e68d5b09f

I cant remember the seller name, but I got mine from someone like this in China, for under $10 beans with the etching of the date on the inside.
I actually got a wider one first, and didnt like it, so for another $5 he sent me the thinner one, which was a little too tight, so for another 5 he sent me the one i am wearing now... I felt funny throwing them away even though they didnt fit, and no one else would want them because they had my date on the inside... They sit in my coin jar now.

I really hope this information gets used, it is something I grew up with knowledge about because my dad liked to buy gold stuff for my mom every year and I was curious as to how it worked... By the time I was 16 I was taking trips to NYC alone to get stuff i wanted... Which at the time was a silver curb link chain, weighing 6 ounces and an inch wide... yes 6 OUNCES... I looked like a skinny white Mr T! I still have it somewhere

If that was a tommy hilfiger tshirt that was an XL, with a 36 inch waist pair of jeans (my waist was probably 28 back then) then yes that is me... I never wore rings though before my wedding band,

Titanium.
Comfort fit.
5mm width.
$8 on ebay. My wife's was 3mm. Less than $20 shipped for both rings!

Take it off (any ring for that matter) prior to working out. Even titanium will show knurling dents when you do deadlifts.

Soooo.....

Married two weeks now and the ring is MUCH too big (pics and wedding/honeymoon thread to follow). I wash my hands, dry with towel, and its gone in the process. Flies off with NO effort. Shower, gone. Pool on the honeymoon, gone. Packing my smokes, gone.
I was 220 lbs around the time I bought the ring, 205 lbs day of the wedding, and 207 now. Only reason I can see to justify the difference in fit.
Will probably buy another ring one size smaller. It's going to disappear without me knowing it.

EDIT: Another reason I mention weight is G DAMN planninng a wedding can be stressful! I havent worked out since the original post and I dropped 15 lbs...

Wedding planning, isn't that the wife's job? Men, during the planning process, are supposed to gain weight from all the beer drinking and couch sitting...

^Yes and no. I'm somewhat of a control freak, so I took on a large part of it. Wife was also having a rough 6 months at work, if I didn't take up a lot of the responsibility it probably wouldn't have been done.
That said, I did quite a bit of beer drinking throughout and still managed to lose weight. Go figure...

Well, eBay it is. $23.60 Delivered is the best price I could find for what appears to be the exact same ring one size smaller. Unreal...

Dude, ebay is where it's at for rings. I'm glad I spent less on both rings that I would on a night at the bar since my marriage had an unforseen expiration date...6 days from now! F her.

*edit* I gotta stop drinking and posting.

How the hell did it get done so quickly? Both of my Dad's divorces took a year!
