Been searching for replacement shocks for wife's 2006 M45 with sport suspension-
So far all I come up with everytime I find a shock is does not fit sport suspension. :wtf2:
I have read the standard and the sport are the same size and mounting but the sport is firmer? :gotme
There seems to be no electrical or hydraulic hookups to them.So can I order standard M45 shocks like KYB or Bilsteins?
Money isn't the issue but I am not paying close to $800 for factory shocks. :bs:
I have found some coil overs for less than $900 but here again they will not commit to confirming the fitment on a Sport suspension.
This is my wifes driver and she does like the way it handles.
Anyone have any suggestions? What have other M45 owners done?

So money IS an issue? Pretty sure the only difference is the stiffness. I think I read a thread somewhere where people put regular shocks on a sport.....

welcome to NICO...you can check out PartsTrain.com

just type in your YR/Make/Model (sport) and search for shocks/struts...very reasonable price. I replaced all four of my shocks and went with KYB's....no complaints...I'm also lowered and originally went with the non-sport shocks but switched them out for the sport shocks...stiffer ride compaired to non-sport, and almost close to stock ride for sport version M's....good luck. save some cash!!!

MONEY IS NOT THE ISSUE- I am not - Repeat- I AM NOT going to spend 800 on factory shocks There are nothing special about those shocks. Tons of shocks out there better made and much cheaper. I did a group buy on a Corvtte Forum and got custom Bilsteins for 450 with upgraded grommets. I just need a size that will fit. :gotme

Thanks for the reply
Fitting and working are two different things. Have you installed some on your car? If so how was/is the ride? I do not want to end up with a mushy ride.

I believe the shocks are the same for both 35 & 45's.....great price -- instead of Dealer quotes....LOL...

z16: your PM's are disabed. In response to your question, I do NOT have the Sport. I am extremely happy with the handling and agree that the stock replacements are hideously priced. You can get the KYBs for under $300 shipped. I cannot vouch for fitment on the M45S though.
