M45 Big Brake Kit- with pictures

Hey there and Welcome to our little group.

I think it matters to some extent which direction the slot is facing for maximum efficiency, however I think that is dependent on the manufacturer and the internal structure.

As an example the rotors pictured in this thread had stickers on them indicating which direction they were supposed to go. The rotors that InfinitiMe has installed on his M35x are Frozen but were installed backwards, or at least the lines seemed to be going the wrong way, will this effect brake operation...maybe but most likely not under most driving conditions. I highly doubt you will be able to get the rotors up to a temperature that will have an impact on them. The look much better in the direction in the pictures here.

Nawaf- I'm glad to hear your internet hunting went well. I'm sure the brakes you have are still next to new since you just put those on too. Good find though.

I just had some EBC Ultimax Slotted Rotors installed along with Hawk HPS Brake Pads. I had done a little research and it indicated that as long as the internal vent vains were not curved, it wouldn't matter.

What you said makes a lot of sense though. I can't imagine with the city driving I do..as aggressive as that might be...it probably won't make much of a difference.
