I just bought a 2013 M37 yesterday and found the microphone isn't working. I reasonable sure it is the mic because not only can no one hear me when I connect my phone with bluetooth, but I can't do the voice training because it doesn't hear my voice.

Assuming it might be the mic module but thought I would post here to see if this is a known issue.

Also, is there a system reset or something like that I could try?

Have you done a reset of all of the settings? The previous owner may have adjusted something. Also, has an aftermarket system been installed like GROM or USASpec as some of those introduce their own microphone, replacing the built-in one.

I haven't done a full reset, and I'm not sure how to do that. The only thing I've done is delete the phone that the previous owner had left in there and added my own. I didn't know there was a reset.

I also don't believe there have been any mods. This was an older couple and the wife drove it.

Just be sure NOT to do the "secret" diagnostic menu's Initialize Settings. It will delete your climate control system (amongst other bad things).
