Well just installed my 08 Sport bumper. Install was a b**** due too 2 1 bolt that is at the right angle point under the head lamp. Almost quit when I realized the little foam obstructing my view could be pressed down allowing me access to the bolts. I didnt use the 08+ splash trays I just made patches to fill in the gaps and still need to get the correct lower fog and center grills.

cool....I like the newer grill, too. I'm still going back and forth with the bumper swap...some body shops are trying to tell me about "all the parts" that I will need...blah, blah blah...

I know I will need a new grill, bumper, fogs and liners...anything else???

it appears your state requires front lic plates..? I think if I do the bumper swap, I will not put back on the front lic... :chuckle:

looks like you have good fitment around the headlights -- no gap.

No gap, all I bought was grill bumper all I need is lower grills. Your body shop is partially right you need correct under trays and spash guards and fitment it onpoint. No gaps or spaces!!!

looks good i am also debating the bumper swap for my 2006 M, i also like the lip kit but it is more expensive than the bumper swap if i am not mistaken and extremely hard to find. could we have some pics of the whole car and was it recently painted it looks like a piano it is so clean and shiny. GOOD WORK!

Its actually dirty, just rained. And I have asphalt sealant all over from our great common wealth of VA. Hopefully they will cover the cleaning hope its not too bad to need paint. Thanks all the same and yes its alot cheaper then doing the 06-07 sport lip add on.
I have seen it going for 800.00 on ebay for the lip alone, and it isnt even JDM lol.

I know you mentioned that you were getting the grill for the bottom and fog light bezels...you may wanna hit up blanco...I think he is selling his 08 grilles (lower and upper)

here's a pix of my 04 CLK -- I did a front bumper swap from the regular non-sport bumper to a Muuuuch better looking bumper...I also retro fitted the fogs to sit behind the one-off mesh grill that my body shop guy made...and I didn't put on the front lic plate since.... :naughty:

Nice Benz, seems like everyone is doing the sport swap, I want to have OEM fog covers just now sure what direction I want to go with them with my fog delete or even if I want to go with fog delete at all at this point.

Looks great! Love the grill. Been thinking of doing the bumper swap on my '07 M35 for sometime, after seeing how yours turned out, I think i'm going to do it after the winter.

looks sick. could you take a close up pic of the headlights? like cpj said, it doesnt look like there is a gap. All the other swaps had a gap at the headlight due to the bumpers not being the exact same size...

@PhillyM35 do it man its not as bigga PITA as they say it is just remember the bolts right under the headlight its a b**** to get too, SUNOCO there are no gaps at all, people with gaps arent putting the bumper into the mounting slots under the lamps, I had gaps when I 1st snugged it up and noticed the tabs and re did it.

Been a busy couple days... Dirty car friends flaked on wrenching, So I went at it solo dolo lol...
After the honey do list was done, had to postpone the spring install S-Tech's or Ehibachs coming.
Over All I am pleased with the lights after adjusting beam levels. I see something I would do different on next set but all said and done I pat myself on the back. Now I need some sort of Eyebrow or EyeShadow. More big things to come in my type of Sport Styling.

I think the car looks so much better with the new drop & new wheels. :dblthumb:

I also love the leds on the side of the headlights but I'm not feeling the yellow lights.

Freaking sick bro! Now I REALLY want to do the 08 sport bumper swap. Can you put together a list of everything that's needed, where to buy, and total cost? Is there a write up with photos somewhere?
