Looking for tires for my 08 M35 with worn rear tires (OEM). May get two or full set.

Need better poor weather traction on ice, snow and wet. Low noise and lift would be nice. These 18" tires do not seem to last too long.

Realize it's all a trade off. Trying to avoid two sets. Have 18" wheels. Chicago location.

All comments encouraged.

Mazz,

Thanks for the feedback. Snow tires are the real answer but looking for something to get me closer. Snows mean rims too.

Thanks a lot.

Yokohama ADVAN S4. Two weeks old and I will never regret this decision. These shoes are simply amazing! All last week as I traveled through Grayslake and Gurnee and everywhere else west suburban Chicago, they handled your chuck holes very well too.

I put a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on my G35 coupe and they worked pretty well. Not as good as snow tires, but they were a decent compromise.

Thanks for the response. What made you buy the Yoko's. I have had Yoko's before, they make a good tire. Am considering these based on your comments.

I noticed the Bridgestone Potenza's RE960AS looked pretty good on the test too. Did you consider them?

Hey, I had the same problem, I read every post on this forum in regards to winter titres vs. all season. I also have a Audi A4 for which I was able to get a set of 16" rims with snow tires and I have to tell you there is a huge difference between those tires and any all season. However for my M35X I didn't have the money at the time to buy a 17 or 18 winter set. I bought a set of CONTINENTAL CONTIEXTREMECONTACT that somebody recomended on this forum. I have to tell you they don't handle as well as my audis snow tires but are 100% better than stock Good Years in the snow and ice. My advice is that if you have the money and time go with snow tire set if not get a good set of all season and they will do the job. I paid 650.00 for the set on Contis from tire rack, they were on closeout. I hope this helps.

Yeah, I've recommended the ContiExtremeContacts repeatedly to get rid of the tramlining and for me here in WA State and into Canada repeatedly for skiing @ Red Mtn in Rossland, BC they work wonderfully on snow and ice.

Yeah, that was you antzrus that recomended using them, than I saw test results on tire rack and that tire was rated pretty close to snow tires on snow and ice. Thanks Antzrus
