Hello to all...I am new to the forum, and currently a proud new owner of a used 06 Infiniti M35X....

Since the tires are probably going to have to be replaced in the future, can anyone recommend a good all season tire? Something useful in the rain and snow/ice, I live in NC, but I travel to MD and NY often, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to NICO!

As has been mentioned here before, "All-season" is really an euphemism for "neither good in summer, nor in winter". Now, that is a bit of an extreme statement of course, , but very true regardless.

I would recommend getting a good set of summer tires for your current wheels - good summer tires will be better in rain than the best all-season tires, and a cheap set of wheels and snow tires for your trips to MD and NY in the winter - good snow tires will be better in snow than the best all-season tires.

However, if you still want to get all-season, then the best choices, IMHO, are the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, Goodyear F1 All-Season, Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS, and Continental ContiExtremeContact. Anything else would be compromising the performance of your car!

(Definitely avoid the Goodyear Eagle RS-A completely. Long-lasting, but very mediocre to poor tire.)

I will never buy all season tires again. I decided to put all seasons on our Maxima, and there loud, and just ok in rain and snow. When the time comes to replace the tires on the M35x, I will probably get some tires that rate excellent in rain. I live in MD, so the weather gods don't send much snow our way anymore . My snowblower just sits brand new in the shed, used only once for 2 inches of snow.

thanks for the input, funny you mention the eagles...that is what the previous owner put on them, and that is what they currently have, so I'm itching to change all four, since the tread doesn't have much life left on them....

I had a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS on my Audi S4 for two years, and they were awesome in the snow and rain and perfectly acceptable for everyday use on dry pavement.

We just got our ('06) M35x a month ago, and one of the conditions was that the dealer replace the bald Goodyears with Pilot Sport AS Plus. So far, they've been great, although there hasn't been much ice or snow here yet.

As I have said many times, I recommend the Nokian WR tires. They are in their 3rd winter. They are considered to be all-weather, but work excellent in the winters of Minnesota.

I am going to be putting 4 new F1's on my 06 M35x after work tonite....maybe i'll take a pic or two when it is done...I can't wait, right now I am driving with 3 nails on my Right Rear and 1 nail on the RF. I just bought the car and found that the previous owner didn't take care of this, but no worries, the tires are pretty much gone anyway, so I wanted to get some all new tires so I wouldn't have to worry about them for a while....

Are the nails still in there? Or simply patched/repaired? And they were not leaking continuously?

How did the new tires work out? Did you get the Eagle F1's?
